As we begin the new year, we are blessed to place its first day under the loving care of Mary, the Holy Mother of God. Today, we honor the woman who humbly said yes to Godโs will and became the Mother of our Savior. Through her faith, obedience, and trust, the Word was made flesh, and through her motherhood, we are given Jesus, our Prince of Peace.
This solemnity reminds us that Mary continues to walk with us as a gentle mother, guiding us closer to her Son. As we step into a new year, we entrust to her our hopes, plans, fears, and prayers. May she teach us to listen to Godโs voice, to treasure His word in our hearts, and to remain faithful even in uncertainty.
On this day, we also pray for peaceโfor our families, our communities, and the whole worldโknowing that where Mary leads, Christ follows. May her maternal intercession cover us throughout the year, drawing us nearer to Jesus and helping us live lives rooted in love, humility, and service.
