To deny yourself equals to believe that God is, and to believe that God is equals to deny yourself. This is because you believe that only He is. In the whole universe He is, and all of us are nothing. I should not be anything. I should not exist. Only He should be everything. Only He should exist. So Paul says, “I have been crucified. It is no longer I, but Christ.”

It is by means of all prayer and petition that we gird our loins with truth, put on the breastplate of righteousness, and have our feet shod with the firm foundation of the gospel of peace. Furthermore, it is by prayer that we take up the shield of faith and receive the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which Spirit is the word of God. Whenever we are about to put on the armor or to take up any item of the armor, we need to pray.

We need to continually behold the beauty of the Lord in the church as the house of His beauty so that we may be transformed from glory to glory, beautified by the Lord, to become His beautiful bride with Him as our diadem of beauty.

We should never be content with ourselves but pursue growth and maturity in the life of Christ.

As soon as a believer is regenerated and becomes a newborn babe spiritually, he should long for God's word in the Bible as the guileless milk that he may grow in his spiritual life.

We grow in the spiritual life by holding in love to Christ as the truth and growing up into Christ as the Head in all things.

Love is the most excellent way for us to be anything or do anything for the building up of the church as the organic Body of Christ.

…having the Spirit of Christ, we are of Christ.

Christ is the Spirit (2 Cor. 3:17), and He is in our spirit (2 Tim. 4:22) and is one spirit with us (1 Cor. 6:17).

Apart from His being the life-giving Spirit, that is, the Spirit of Christ, it is impossible for Christ to enter into us in order to become our experience for our enjoyment.

We are no more in the flesh, but in the spirit.

We need to allow the Spirit of the Triune God to make His home in us so that in our experience we may be in the spirit and not in the flesh.

The righteous requirement of the law is not consciously kept by us through our outward endeavoring but is spontaneously and unconsciously fulfilled in us by the inward working of the Spirit of life.
