May makikinig. At may handang tumulong.

32nd PhilCAT CONVENTION- happening from August 11–14, 2026
CBCP ECHC participated in the Philippine Coalition Against Tuberculosis Convention, a virtual conference focuses on modern innovations in TB prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and patient-centered care under the theme “Future-Ready TB Care: Rapid Innovation, Real-World Evidence, and Equitable Impact.”
Blessed to be part of this convention as a Session Chair highlighting the broader factors that influence TB outcomes. We will describe the impact of smoking, nutrition, and mental health on TB care, present integrated care models, and explore multidisciplinary and community-based approaches that can improve patient outcomes and strengthen TB programs.

Congratulations and Support - DR. EDWIN MERCADO & DR. BEVERLY LORRAINE HO

-MESSAGE-
On behalf of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines Episcopal Commission on Healthcare, we extend our warmest congratulations and prayers to Dr. Edwin Mercado on his appointment as Secretary of Health, and to Dr. Beverly Ho on her appointment as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth).

Your appointments come at a crucial time for our nation, when the Filipino people need a healthcare system that is compassionate, accessible, transparent, and responsive—especially to the poor, the vulnerable, and those living in remote communities. We are confident that your professional competence, dedication, and spirit of public service will guide you as you undertake these important responsibilities.

The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines assures you of our prayers and support. Through our dioceses, hospitals, schools, parishes, and social-action institutions, we remain committed to working with the government in promoting the dignity of every person, strengthening health services, and ensuring that no Filipino is left behind.

May the Lord grant you wisdom, courage, integrity, and compassion as you serve our people. May your leadership bring renewed trust, effective cooperation, and meaningful improvements in the health and well-being of every Filipino.

With prayerful best wishes and fraternal support,
Rev. Fr. Dan Vicente Cancino Jr., MI
Executive Secretary,
