Onโ€‹โ€โ€‹โ€Œโ€โ€‹โ€โ€Œโ€‹โ€โ€‹โ€Œโ€โ€‹โ€โ€Œ December 8, as we celebrate the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, we are reminded to give honor to the exceptional gift of grace to Maryโ€”who was chosen by God and was freed from original sin so that she might wholeheartedly identify with the divine plan of our salvation. This feast is a sign of Godโ€™s love without limits and His request for each one of us to answer His call with openness, trust, and faith.

This feast-day makes us think about the life of Mary which was marked by obedience to Godโ€™s law, humility of her being, and brave giving up to Godโ€™s will. The first and only Christian โ€œyesโ€ of her life continues to be the source of inspiration to many believers who are challenged to live in integrity, compassion, and hope even at times when they lack certainty. Among numerous crises confronting the world today, Maryโ€™s testimony is a refutation that, indeed, power can be derived from the purity of the heart and a steady trust in Godโ€™s plan.

On this very occasion, we should use the opportunity to have the life of Mary to refresh our souls, affect the decisions we make, and deepen our faith. Her prayer and presence with us should lead us to more sympathy, coming together, and serenity in our houses and neighborhoods. Let December 8 not only be the day we recall the event but also be the instant of inner renewalโ€”a chance to say โ€œyesโ€ to the grace which is exactly what Mary โ€ โ€Œ โ€ โ€ โ€‹โ€โ€Œdid. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿค

โœจ Society of Saint Vincent de Paul Organization Day 2025 โœจ
Last September 24, the SSVP family gathered to celebrate our Organization Day โ€” a meaningful event that strengthened both our faith and sense of community.

The program began with an introduction to the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul, highlighting its mission, core values, and the significant events we have accomplished in the past. Members also participated in a getting-to-know activity, fostering camaraderie and teamwork within the group.

The day concluded with a discussion of our future plans and upcoming activities, as we continue to uphold the Vincentian mission of service and compassion toward those in need.

Together, we remain steadfast in our commitment to serve with humility, faith, and love. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ™

FEAST DAY OF SAINT VINCENT DE PAUL

On September 27โœจ, we celebrate the feast of St. Vincent de Paul ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป, a person whose entire life was a demonstration of faith through charity. Despite being born in a poor family, he did not only become a priest but a holy one whose heart was always close to the difficulties of the poor and the less privileged. His message was simplified to the profound act of seeing Jesus in every person, and especially the ones who were neglected. St. Vincent called back to us that โ€œCharity is the cement which binds communities to God and persons to one anotherโ€ ๐Ÿซ‚ (St. Vincent de Paul, letters) and he witnessed this reality through his every service.

He established not only communities but also works of charity that are still active and continue to help people from all over the world until now. However, he always reminds everyone that โ€œYou will find out that Charity is a heavy burden to carry, heavier than the bowl of soup and the full basket. But you must keep your gentleness and your smile.โ€ ๐Ÿ˜Š (St. Vincent de Paul, Conferences).

His observations affirm that charity is not always an easy task, yet it all comes from love. He also said, โ€œWe should spend as much time in thanking God for His benefits as we do in asking Him for themโ€ ๐Ÿคฒ๐Ÿป (St. Vincent de Paul, Letters) in this way, he connected the service to gratitude.

He is remembered for his humility, loving-kindness, and great cheerfulness in bringing relief to those that were in trouble. We can all be better people if we take in his teaching points in our lives and thus we would not miss any opportunity to acknowledge need or act out kindness, bravery, and love. As he himself stated, โ€œWe must love our neighbor as being made in the image of God and as an object of His love.โ€ ๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿป(St. Vincent de Paul, conferences)

May we be the ones He is looking for; people who will practice what we preach and bring the light of God to those living in darkness. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿซ‚
