32nd Lord’s Day | August 9, 2026

What a blessed time in God's Word last Sunday!

We were reminded that opposition to God's work is nothing new — from the Fall of man up to the days of Christ, the tension between the seed of the serpent and the seed of the woman has always been present. God's people have always faced resistance, but we are not the first, and we will not be the last.

Yet we do not lose heart nor grow weary, because God has promised He will be with His people and will surely accomplish His purpose.
Like Nehemiah, our response to opposition and trials is to lift up our concerns to the Lord — not out of fear, but out of confidence in who He is and what He has done.

The good news is that those who have put their faith in Christ and in His finished work at the cross already share in His victory. The battle against the enemy is not uncertain — it is settled. We simply need to endure, stand firm, and trust in the Lord who has already won.

Soli Deo Gloria!

31st Lord’s Day | August 2, 2026

Our journey through Nehemiah reminds us of God's faithfulness in fulfilling His purposes—working through ordinary people from different walks of life, bringing them together to accomplish what He has ordained.

Just as God's people in Nehemiah's day worked together to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem, the Church today is made up of different people, gifts, and backgrounds, yet united in one purpose: to serve God and bring glory to His name.

Each of us has been given unique gifts, not for ourselves alone, but for the benefit and edification of the whole Church. May we faithfully steward what God has entrusted to us, serve one another in love, and remember that it is God who accomplishes His purposes through His people

Soli Deo Gloria!

28th Lord's Day | July 12, 2026

"And the king granted me what I asked, for the good hand of my God was upon me." – Nehemiah 2:8

Last Sunday, we were reminded that our faithful God is a prayer-answering God. Often, we long for answers to our prayers while forgetting that many of the blessings we enjoy today are themselves answers to prayers God has already graciously fulfilled.

Looking at the life of Nehemiah, we were challenged to keep our composure even in the midst of trials, trusting that God is at work even when circumstances are hard.

We were also reminded that prayer isn't just a request list — it's a posture. It's total dependence on our sovereign Lord who rules over all things, including the hearts of kings.

The favorable response of the king to Nehemiah's request reminds us that God can use anyone to accomplish His purposes, even those we least expect. No one is beyond His sovereign rule; He directs the hearts of all according to His perfect will.

As we continue our journey of faith, may we recognize that even when God answers our prayers, we're never fully free from trials along the way. Yet we can be confident that the same God who answers is the same God who carries us through.

27th Lord’s Day | July 5, 2026

Last Lord's Day, we began our new sermon series on the book of Nehemiah. From Nehemiah 1:1–11, we saw how Nehemiah bore a godly burden for God's people after hearing about the broken condition of Jerusalem. Rather than responding with indifference, he mourned, fasted for many days, and turned to God in prayer. In his prayer, Nehemiah praised God's covenant faithfulness, he acknowledge his own sin and confessed the sins of His people, and humbly appealed to the Lord's promises, recognizing that it is only through God can they be restored.

As God's people today, we are likewise called to bear one another's burdens and bring them before the Lord in prayer. A godly burden should not drive us to anxiety or self-reliance, but to God, trusting in His providence and steadfast faithfulness.

We also thank God for another blessed Lord's Day of worship, the faithful preaching of His Word, and the sweet fellowship of the saints. We also thank Him for the privilege of partaking in the Lord's Supper. Through this ordinance, we are reminded once again of our union with Christ, His finished work, and the rich blessings that are ours because we belong in Christ. Truly, the gospel is as beautiful and precious to us today as when we first believed.
