Bakit nagpatayo ang Lebanon ng pinakamalaking rosaryo sa buong mundo?

Ang pinakamalaking rosaryo sa mundo ay kilala bilang Rosaire du Liban o Rosary of Lebanon.

Ito ay isang dambuhalang estruktura ng pananampalataya na matatagpuan sa rehiyon ng Deir el Ahmar sa Bekaa Valley ng bansang Lebanon.

Narito ang ilang mahahalagang detalye tungkol sa proyektong ito:

1. Sukat at Disenyo:
Ang buong rosaryo ay may habang 600 metro (halos 2,000 talampakan) at binubuo ng 59 higanteng mga butil na gawa sa kongkreto.

2. Bawat Butil ay Kápilya:
Ang bawat butil ay may sukat na humigit-kumulang 4.9 metro ang haba at 3.5 metro ang lapad, na may sapat na espasyo para sa mga deboto na pumasok at magdasal sa loob.

3. Dulo ng Panalangin:
Ang landas ng rosaryo ay nagtatapos sa isang malaking monumento na tinatawag na Cross of the Resurrection (Krus ng Muling Pagkabuhay). Sa ilalim nito ay mayroong lugar na nakalaan para sa pagsamba at pagdarasal sa Blessed Sacrament.

4. Liwanag na Makikita Mula sa Langit:
Ang buong landas ay idinisenyo upang magningning sa gabi. Dahil ang rehiyon ay dinaraanan ng maraming flight path mula Europa patungong Asya, ang rosaryo ay sadyang ginawa para makita mula sa himpapawid.

The Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) teaches that the Catholic Church is an apostate institution that abandoned original biblical doctrines.

They argue that the true church was restored by Felix Manalo in 1914 and that Catholics are not saved because they practice idolatry and reject the INC's specific teachings.

The theological clash between the two groups centers on several core arguments, with Catholics providing counter-teachings from scripture and history:

1. The Divine Nature of Jesus Christ

INC Teaching:
The INC rejects the doctrine of the Holy Trinity, viewing it as unbiblical. They believe Jesus Christ is a man endowed with special attributes by God, but not God Himself.

Catholic Answer:
Catholics point to biblical passages such as John 1:1 ("the Word was God") and Colossians 2:9 ("in him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily") to defend the Trinity and Jesus's full divinity.

2. The Great Apostasy and Church Authority

INC Teaching:
The INC teaches that the original Church established by Christ fell into a "total apostasy" shortly after the time of the Apostles, corrupting true Christian teachings.

Catholic Answer:
Catholics counter this claim using Matthew 16:18, where Jesus tells Peter, "on this rock I will build my Church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it". They argue that if the Church had completely apostatized, Christ's promise would have failed.

3. Salvation and the True Church

INC Teaching:
The INC believes that salvation is exclusive to members registered in the Iglesia ni Cristo. They claim that being a member of the "Church of Christ" (which they identify as the INC) is required to be saved.

Catholic Answer:
Catholics emphasize that while the Church provides the means of grace, God's mercy and salvation can extend to those outside the visible bounds of the Catholic Church who sincerely seek Him (a teaching known as invincible ignorance).

4. Idolatry and Catholic Practices

INC Teaching:
The INC accuses Catholics of idolatry because of the veneration of saints, the use of statues and crucifixes, and the adoration of the Eucharist. They argue these traditions were adopted from paganism.

Catholic Answer:
Catholics clarify that they do not worship statues or saints as gods, but rather venerate them as models of faith. They distinguish between latria (worship owed to God alone) and dulia (honor given to saints).

5. The Papacy and Church Origins

INC Teaching:
The INC rejects the authority of the Pope and views the Roman Catholic Church as a man-made organization rather than the institution founded by Christ.

Catholic Answer:
Catholics defend papal succession, tracing the authority of the Pope back to the Apostle Peter. They argue that the Catholic Church has historically maintained a continuous, unbroken lineage of faith and leadership from antiquity, whereas the INC was established in the 20th century.

Today, we give thanks to all fathers, grandfathers, godfathers, and father figures who reflect the loving care and steadfast faith of St. Joseph.

Like St. Joseph, may all fathers continue to be protectors of their families, providers in times of need, and examples of faith, humility, and selfless love. Your sacrifices, guidance, and unwavering dedication are blessings that shape our homes and communities.

On this 12th Sunday in Ordinary Time, we entrust all fathers to the loving care of God and ask the intercession of St. Joseph, Patron of Fathers and Families.

May the Lord bless you with strength, wisdom, good health, and abundant grace.

HAPPY 69TH BIRTHDAY, HIS EMINENCE LUIS ANTONIO CARDINAL TAGLE!

Today, we joyfully celebrate the 69th birthday of one of the Church's most beloved shepherds, Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle.

Known for his humility, wisdom, compassion, and deep love for God and His people, Cardinal Tagle has become an inspiration not only to Filipinos but also to Catholics around the world. Through his faithful service, heartfelt preaching, and tireless dedication to evangelization, he continues to bring countless souls closer to Christ and His Church.

As we thank God for the gift of his life and vocation, let us also pray that the Lord may continue to bless him with good health, strength, wisdom, and joy as he carries out his mission in service to the People of God. May the Holy Spirit guide him each day, and may the Blessed Virgin Mary keep him under her loving mantle.

Your Eminence, thank you for your unwavering witness of faith, your fatherly care for the faithful, and your commitment to proclaiming the Gospel with simplicity and love. The Church is richer because of your generous "yes" to God's call.
