MORNING PRAYER – May 6, 2025 (Tuesday of the Third Week of Easter)
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Today's First Reading from Acts 7:51—8:1a recounts the martyrdom of Stephen, the first Christian martyr. Stephen boldly addresses the Sanhedrin, accusing them of resisting the Holy Spirit and persecuting the prophets. Enraged, they drag him out of the city and stone him. As he is being stoned, Stephen prays, "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit," and forgives his persecutors, saying, "Lord, do not hold this sin against them." Witnessing this event is Saul, who consents to Stephen's ex*****on.

Reflection:
Stephen's unwavering faith and forgiveness in the face of death exemplify the profound courage and compassion that come from a deep relationship with Christ. His ability to forgive his ex*****oners challenges us to examine our own capacity for mercy and our commitment to stand firm in our beliefs, even when faced with adversity. As we reflect on Stephen's martyrdom, let us consider how we can embody such steadfastness and grace in our daily lives.

Prayer:
Lord God, grant us the strength and courage that Stephen displayed in his final moments. Help us to remain faithful to You, even when faced with trials and persecution. Fill our hearts with compassion, enabling us to forgive those who wrong us. May we draw inspiration from Stephen's example to live lives of unwavering faith and boundless love. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Today's First Reading from Acts 7:51–8:1a presents the martyrdom of Stephen, the first Christian martyr. Stephen boldly accuses the Sanhedrin of resisting the Holy Spirit, leading to his condemnation and ex*****on by stoning. As he is being stoned, Stephen prays, "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit," and forgives his persecutors, echoing Jesus' words on the cross. This passage also introduces Saul, who consents to Stephen's death.

MORNING PRAYER – May 4, 2025 (Monday of the Third Week of Easter)
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Today's First Reading from Acts 6:8–15 presents Stephen, filled with grace and power, performing great wonders and signs among the people. Opposition arises from members of the so-called Synagogue of Freedmen, who debate with Stephen but cannot withstand the wisdom and the Spirit with which he speaks. False accusations lead to his arrest and appearance before the Sanhedrin, where all who sit in the council see that his face is like the face of an angel.

Reflection:
Stephen's unwavering faith and eloquence, even in the face of false accusations and impending persecution, exemplify the courage that comes from a deep relationship with God. His ability to speak with wisdom and grace challenges us to consider how we respond when our beliefs are tested. Do we, like Stephen, rely on the Holy Spirit to guide our words and actions? Let us strive to embody such steadfastness in our daily lives.

Prayer:
Lord God, grant us the courage and wisdom that Stephen displayed. In moments of trial, may we remain faithful and speak with the grace that comes from Your Spirit. Help us to be witnesses of Your truth, even when faced with opposition. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

NIGHT PRAYER – May 1, 2025
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

As the day concludes, we reflect on the Gospel reading from John 3:31–36, where John the Baptist testifies to Jesus' divine origin and authority. "The one who comes from above is above all." "The Father loves the Son and has given everything over to him." "Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever disobeys the Son will not see life."

Reflection:
This passage underscores the supremacy of Christ and the gift of eternal life offered through faith in Him. John the Baptist's testimony calls us to acknowledge Jesus' divine authority and to align our lives accordingly. Belief in the Son is not merely intellectual assent but entails a transformative relationship that leads to obedience and trust. As we prepare for rest, let us examine our hearts: do we truly believe in the Son, and does our belief manifest in our actions? May we surrender ourselves to His lordship and find peace in His promises.

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, we acknowledge You as the One who comes from above, endowed with the fullness of the Father's love. Strengthen our faith, that we may believe in You wholeheartedly and live in obedience to Your word. As we rest tonight, fill our hearts with the peace that comes from trusting in Your promise of eternal life. Transform our lives to reflect Your truth and love. We pray this in Your holy name. Amen.

NOON PRAYER – May 1, 2025
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

At this midday hour, we reflect on Psalm 34:2–9, a hymn of praise celebrating God's deliverance. "I will bless the LORD at all times; his praise shall be ever in my mouth." "I sought the LORD, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears." "Taste and see how good the LORD is; blessed the man who takes refuge in him."

Reflection:
Psalm 34 invites us to a life of continual praise and trust in God's providence. The psalmist's personal testimony of seeking and finding the Lord encourages us to turn to God in our own times of need. The imagery of tasting and seeing God's goodness suggests an intimate and experiential knowledge of His love. As we pause in the middle of our day, let us open our hearts to God's grace and find comfort in His unwavering support. May our lives be a testament to His enduring mercy.

Prayer:
Lord, we thank You for Your constant presence and the countless ways You show Your goodness to us. Help us to seek You earnestly and to trust in Your deliverance from our fears. May we always find refuge in You and encourage others to do the same. Let our lives reflect Your love and inspire praise in those around us. We pray this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

MORNING PRAYER – May 1, 2025 (Thursday of the Second Week of Easter)
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Today's First Reading from Acts 5:27–33 recounts the apostles standing before the Sanhedrin, boldly affirming their obedience to God over human authority. Peter declares, "We must obey God rather than men." He continues, "The God of our ancestors raised Jesus, though you had him killed by hanging him on a tree." "God exalted him at his right hand as leader and savior to grant Israel repentance and forgiveness of sins."

Reflection:
This passage highlights the unwavering commitment of the apostles to their divine mission, even in the face of persecution. Their courage stems from a profound conviction in the truth of the Resurrection and the transformative power of God's forgiveness. Peter's testimony challenges us to examine our own allegiances: do we prioritize God's will above societal pressures? In moments of moral conflict, may we find inspiration in the apostles' example. Let us strive to be faithful witnesses to the Gospel in our daily lives.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, grant us the courage to stand firm in our faith, even when faced with opposition. May we, like the apostles, choose obedience to You over the approval of others. Strengthen our resolve to proclaim the truth of the Resurrection with love and conviction. Fill us with the Holy Spirit, that we may be bold in our witness and compassionate in our actions. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

NIGHT PRAYER – April 29, 2025
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

As the day concludes, we reflect on the Gospel reading from John 3:7b–15, where Jesus speaks to Nicodemus about the necessity of spiritual rebirth. "You must be born from above." "The wind blows where it wills, and you can hear the sound it makes, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes; so it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit." "Just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the desert, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, so that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life."

Reflection:
Jesus invites us to embrace a transformation that transcends physical existence—a rebirth through the Spirit. This spiritual awakening opens the door to eternal life and a deeper communion with God. The analogy of the wind illustrates the mysterious yet powerful work of the Spirit in our lives. As we rest tonight, let us contemplate the areas in our hearts that need renewal. May we remain open to the Spirit's guidance, allowing ourselves to be continually transformed by God's grace.

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You for the gift of new life through the Spirit. As we lay down to rest, renew our hearts and minds. Help us to embrace the transformation You offer, trusting in Your promise of eternal life. Guide us to live each day led by the Spirit, bearing witness to Your love and truth. We pray this in Your holy name. Amen.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

NOON PRAYER – April 29, 2025
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

At this midday hour, we reflect on Psalm 93:1ab, 1cd–2, 5, which proclaims God's majesty and eternal reign. "The LORD is king, in splendor robed; robed is the LORD and girt about with strength." "Your throne stands firm from of old; from everlasting you are, O LORD." "Your decrees are worthy of trust indeed: holiness befits your house, O LORD, for length of days."

Reflection:
This psalm reminds us of God's unchanging sovereignty amidst the ever-shifting circumstances of life. His strength and holiness provide a firm foundation upon which we can build our trust. As we navigate the challenges of our day, recalling God's eternal reign offers comfort and assurance. Let us anchor our hearts in His steadfast love and righteousness. May our lives reflect the holiness that befits His house.

Almighty God, You reign with majesty and strength. In a world of uncertainty, we find solace in Your eternal presence. Guide our actions to align with Your decrees, and instill in us a spirit of reverence and trust. May our lives be a testament to Your enduring holiness. We offer this prayer through Christ our Lord. Amen.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

MORNING PRAYER – April 29, 2025 (Tuesday of the Second Week of Easter)
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Today's First Reading from Acts 4:32–37 describes the early Christian community's unity and generosity. "The community of believers was of one heart and mind, and no one claimed that any of his possessions was his own, but they had everything in common." "With great power the Apostles bore witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great favor was accorded them all." "There was no needy person among them."

Reflection:
This passage highlights the profound unity and selflessness of the early Church. Their shared faith in the risen Christ fostered a community where resources were pooled to ensure no one was in need. Such radical generosity challenges us to examine our own attitudes toward possessions and community. Are we willing to share our blessings to uplift others? Let us strive to embody this spirit of unity and compassion in our daily lives.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, grant us hearts that mirror the generosity of the early believers. May we recognize our possessions as gifts to be shared for the common good. Strengthen our communities in unity and love, reflecting the light of Christ to the world. Help us to bear witness to the Resurrection through acts of kindness and solidarity. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

NIGHT PRAYER – April 28, 2025
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

As the day concludes, we reflect on the Gospel reading from John 3:1–8, where Nicodemus, a Pharisee, visits Jesus at night. Jesus tells him, "Amen, amen, I say to you, unless one is born from above, he cannot see the Kingdom of God." He further explains, "The wind blows where it wills... so it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit."

Reflection:
This encounter between Jesus and Nicodemus invites us to consider the transformative power of spiritual rebirth. Being "born from above" signifies a renewal that comes from the Holy Spirit, leading us into a deeper relationship with God. Just as the wind is unseen yet felt, the Spirit works in our lives in mysterious and profound ways. As we end our day, let us open our hearts to the Spirit's movement, allowing ourselves to be guided and renewed. May we embrace the new life offered through faith in Christ.

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You for the gift of new life through the Holy Spirit. As we rest tonight, renew our hearts and minds, drawing us closer to You. Help us to be attentive to the Spirit's guidance, embracing the transformation You offer. May our lives reflect the love and grace we have received. We ask this in Your holy name. Amen.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
