As is true of many fathers, Joseph raised Jesus to follow in his own profession as a craftsman; in the Gospels, Jesus is called “the son of the carpenter”.

The life of St Joseph shows us the dignity of human work, which is the duty and the perfection of human beings, who in this way exercise dominion over creation, share in the work of the Creator, offer their service to the community, and participate in God’s plan of salvation. Joseph loved his work. He never complained of weariness, but as a man of faith, elevated it to the exercise of virtue. He found contentment in his work because he did not aspire to wealth and did not envy the rich; for Joseph, work was not a means of satisfying his own greed but an instrument to support his family.
And, following God’s commandment, on the Sabbath St Joseph observed the weekly rest and took part in the celebrations. We should not wonder at this noble conception of the humble work of manual labour: already in the Old Testament, in fact, God was seen symbolically as a winegrower, a sower, a shepherd.

Today, we celebrate the Memorial of Pope Saint Pius V.
Saint Pius V, you were unwavering in your faith and courage. God used those virtues to defend and reform His Church when it was suffering greatly. Please pray that as the church continues to be in need of proclamation, I will be a holy instrument in the hands of God. May I be courageous and faithful until the end, no matter the cost.

Saint Pius V, pray for us.
Jesus, I trust in You.

Today we remember St Catherine of Siena. A Doctor of the Church known for her service to the poor and for fearlessly standing up for truth to politicians and Church leaders alike.
Burning with the love of God and her neighbour, her public influence reached great heights because of her evident holiness.

St Catherine, pray for us.

“𝑱𝒐𝒚 𝒔𝒑𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒔 𝒇𝒓𝒐𝒎 𝒂 𝒈𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒇𝒖𝒍 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒕.” — 𝑷𝒐𝒑𝒆 𝑭𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒊𝒔

On his 1st anniversary with Our Creator, we remember a man who was a sheperd that truly lived those words with a joyful heart. Through his compassion for the poor, his call to care for our Common Home, and his constant reminder to choose kindness, he has shown to us that gratitude is more than a just a feeling, but rather, it is a way of living.

Most especially now, in a world that often forgets to pause and appreciate God's gifts, may we strive to be like Pope Francis— one who accepts the gifts with grace and a humble heart even during tumultuous times.

Today, may we celebrate not just his legacy, but the warmth and happiness he shared freely to us all 🤍

Benedict, a Frenchman, was given the nickname “the vagabond of God,” having chosen the streets as his monastery. With a crucifix and a breviary, he made pilgrimages throughout France and Italy, living on charity that he shared with others. He died in Rome in 1783 and was canonized by Pope Leo XIII.

Sts. Tiburtius, Valerianus, and Maximus were early Christian martyrs who suffered persecution for their faith along the Via Appia in Rome. Their steadfastness in the face of death exemplifies the ultimate testimony of love and devotion to Christ.

Today we celebrate the Feast day of the Founder of the Brothers of the Christian Schools, St. John Baptist de la Salle. A revolutionary priest who selflessly shared his wisdom and love for God to the youth. He who looked at the world and saw children who were being left behind and decided to make a change. And all this, because St. De la Salle understood that education is the ultimate act of faith and liberation.

In this day, may we be reminded of how his great action of instilling Christ-centered education pushed forth the teaching for love and servant leadership. And alike him, may we continue to leave footsteps of faith, service, and community wherever we may go.

Whether you are a teacher or a student, remember that you are part of a cause, a miracle, shared by a man who believed that one pious heart, touched by the Almighty God, can change the world.

“𝑨𝒇𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒓𝒆𝒆 𝒅𝒂𝒚𝒔 𝑰 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒆 𝒇𝒓𝒐𝒎 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒅𝒆𝒂𝒅.” - 𝑴𝒂𝒕𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒘 𝟐𝟕:𝟔𝟑

Easter Sunday is a day of joy filled with immense faith and comfort as our savior exits his tomb. Let this day be not only of relief, but also of commitment and renewal of our soul towards fostering a better relationship with Christ. While we celebrate Jesus’ resurrection, may this be a turning point of our lives to change in accordance with his will.

May this holy day bring all of us a sense of enlightenment and peace, and a reminder that Jesus will always be by our side no matter what tribulation arises.

At last his resurrection has come. Happy Easter!

Black Saturday is a day suspended between sorrow and hope. The world waits in silence after the suffering and death of Jesus.

In this quiet, may we be alike to Mother Mary, who remains steadfast in faith beyond troubles. Though her heart is pierced with grief, she holds on to trust in God’s promise. When all seems lost, she became a living witness of hope, teaching us how to wait, believe, and remain faithful even in the darkest moments.

And as we ask ourselves, “How can I trust and remain in faith, like Mary, even during darkest times?”

He who is our brother and savior is on the cross, burdened by the pain of physical torment, public humiliation, and spiritual agony as he bears all of our sins. Despite leading the life of service and fellowship, humanity’s impurity leads to the eventual suffering of our savior Jesus Christ.

As we dedicate this day to him, let us all confess and abstain from our sins. With this, we hope to lessen the weight of Jesus’ cross as we carry our own.
