Music truly speaks to the soul in a language that transcends words.

During my recent ministry visit to Europe, I had the wonderful privilege of crossing paths with the BYU Singers. These devoted young people are currently traveling through the region ahead of the Musica Sacra International Festival in Germany, and they happened to perform in the very chapel in Salzburg that I was dedicating the same weekend! It felt entirely inspired—as though their music helped prepare not only the building, but also our hearts.

Listening to their talented voices testify of Jesus Christ filled me with a deep, abiding gratitude. Music is a divine gift with a remarkable power to love, share, and invite. It reaches across cultures and languages, drawing us closer to one another and, most importantly, to the Savior.

Truly, Jesus Christ is the way to peace in this world and eternal life in the world to come.

He knows and loves each of us perfectly and invites us to walk with Him, abide in Him, and follow His example of ministering to others one by one in charity and love.

We have been reminded of the central role of marriage and families in our Heavenly Father’s plan for the eternal destiny of His children.

May we all demonstrate the pure love of Christ in our families, in our communities, and in all of our interactions with God’s children.

In our busy, screen-filled world, it’s easy to forget the power of true, face-to-face connection. Church leaders reminded us this week that spending quality time together and ministering to one another is how we build lasting bonds.

As President Dallin H. Oaks shared: “What those we love need most is simply time with us. Our Savior, Jesus Christ, is our ultimate role model. He will help us as we strive to build these family bonds.”

Let’s put down the distractions this week and give our families and friends the gift of our presence. Who can you reach out to or spend some intentional time with today?

After approvals from the city of Coeur d’Alene, the first house of the Lord planned for northern Idaho is now undergoing preliminary utility and infrastructure work on the site.

The Coeur d’Alene Idaho Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is one of 11 in various stages in Idaho, the 10th that was announced for the state.

With the city’s approvals, the Church can begin initial site preparation work. This includes land grading and installing underground utility infrastructure like water, sewer and electrical service connections to the city’s existing systems.

The Yorba Linda California Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is scheduled to be dedicated on Sunday, June 7, by President D. Todd Christofferson. Serving as the second house of the Lord in Orange County, California—joining the existing Newport Beach California Temple—the sacred edifice is currently hosting a public open house. This public preview period began on April 30 and is set to conclude on May 23.

President Christofferson, who serves as the second counselor in the First Presidency, will not be alone for next month's dedicatory services. He will be accompanied by several Church leaders and their spouses, including Elder Steven R. Bangerter (executive director of the Temple Department) and Sister Susan Bangerter, Elder I. Raymond Egbo and Sister Comfort Egbo, as well as Elder Takashi Wada and Sister Naomi Wada.

Ministering is truly loving and caring for others as the Savior would. It is a way of being; it is the way of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

The Savior shows us the ultimate individuality of God’s love through His atoning sacrifice and the divine capacity He has to heal and minister to you and me on an intimate level.

Jesus Christ chose to suffer for our sins and to atone in indescribable agony that we might be saved and receive divine succor. All this He did without the assurance that we would love Him in return. “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

This is the kind of love He has for you and me. And this is the kind of love He desires us to have for each other: “A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you.” We can demonstrate our love for Him by keeping His commandments and ministering to others while they and we are yet imperfect.

Ministering—“That Ye Love One Another; as I Have Loved You”
