From Madrid to Manila Wyd 2011 Overnight Vigil at Ateneo World Youth Day (WYD) 2011: From Madrid to Manila Youth Vigil Dear Friends of Campus Ministry,

Greetings of Peace! Thank you very much and God bless! Vicente D.

World Youth Day (WYD) is one of the most treasured gift of Blessed Pope John Paul II to the youth. A few months from now, tens of thousand of young people and youth ministers from around the world will soon start their journey to Madrid, Spain for the 26th World Youth Day (WYD) celebration. Sadly however, the financial requirement needed to attend the WYD celebration in Madrid is a great obstacle.

Thus, only a few of our young people can attend the Madrid celebration. Out of a fervent desire to bring this grace filled youth event to the Filipino youth, the Campus Ministry of the Archdiocese of Manila and the Jesuit Communications Foundation Inc of the Philippine Province of the Society of Jesus together with Ateneo de Manila University, Tanging Yaman Foundation, Inc., the Roman Catholic Diocese of Cubao and the ECY-CBCP are spearheading a WYD 2011 Madrid local celebration right here in the metropolis. Guided by the WYD 2011 theme, “ Planted and Built in Jesus Christ, Firm in the Faith,” the event dubbed as “WYD 2011 Madrid to Manila: Kabataan, Nakaugat Kay Kristo”, will be held on August 20 – 21 at the Ateneo de Manila University. This event hopes to gather around 10,000 to 15,000 youth from the different colleges, universities and parishes in Metro Manila. Thus, we wish to invite you, your community and the youth to come to participate in this event. For more details, please feel free to contact the secretariat. Praying for a favorable response and support to our invitation. Sincerely yours in the Lord,
