"We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the participants of this convention. Your openness, cheerfulness, active participation, and fraternal spirit truly enriched our experience and gave life to our gathering.

Our spirit of cooperation has become a beautiful testimony of our unity— a living witness of the communion that the Lord desires for all of us. “That they may all be one” (cf. John 17:21).

Thank you, thank you, thank you very much!"

—Gratitude Message of Fr. Nathaniel Gentizon for the recently-concluded 29th DVP National Convention hosted by the Archdiocese of Jaro

MESSAGE OF GRATITUDE

“Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain” (Psalm 127:1).

The 29th National Convention of the Directors of Vocations has truly been a grace-filled success—made possible through God’s abundant grace and the loving intercession of our Blessed Mother.

We begin by expressing our profound gratitude to Bishop Dodong, whose presence, guidance, and support have been a great source of encouragement and blessing for all of us.

We also extend our sincere appreciation to the CBCP Episcopal Commission on Vocations and to the Directors of Vocations in the Philippines Officers, whose collaboration and leadership made this convention more meaningful and fruitful.

Our heartfelt thanks go to our brother-priests who supported us both spiritually and financially. In a special way, we recognize those who generously took on key responsibilities in our committees:
Fr. Mark Joseph Hormigoso (Food Committee),
Fr. Angelo Colada (Social Communications),
Fr. Paul Patrick Alipao (Decoration Committee).

We also acknowledge with gratitude our seminary rectors, Fr. John Tadifa and Fr. Rey Zerrudo, for their guidance and support.

We give special recognition to the seminarians of St. Vincent Ferrer Seminary and St. Joseph Regional Seminary for their invaluable service and joyful presence throughout the convention.

Our sincere thanks as well to Keneth Gadian for his dedicated work in the Social Communications Committee.

We would also like to express our gratitude to the members of the DVP–Iloilo Chapter for the strong spirit of collaboration and the good working relationship that greatly contributed to the success of this gathering.

In a special way, we also thank the members of the Parish Commission on Vocations, whose commitment at the grassroots level continues to build and promote a culture of vocations in our local Church.

We are deeply grateful for the generosity of our benefactors, and for the dedication of our leaders and members of the working committees—truly gifted and hardworking individuals who offered their time, talent, and hearts for this mission.

We also thank our partner institutions and collaborators—
the schools, and the Association of Consecrated Men and Women here in Iloilo, composed of different congregations.

Our appreciation likewise goes to our staff and personnel, and to all those who worked behind the scenes—those who assisted in transportation, cooking, and cleaning. Your quiet and generous service made everything possible.

We are grateful to Diversion 21 Hotel and Sam’s 21 Hotel for their warm hospitality and excellent service throughout the convention.

Above all, we thank the Lord for blessing us with inspiring speakers and devoted Mass celebrants whose homilies renewed us in our vocation ministry.

Finally, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the participants of this convention.

To those we may have unintentionally failed to mention, please accept our sincere gratitude as well. 🙏

May the Lord reward you with good health, safety, and protection, and grant you peace of mind and heart.

Thank you, thank you, thank you very much!

To our dear Working Committees:

A simple "thank you" feels insufficient. This collage may not feature all of you, but we want to honor and celebrate every single one of you. To the secretariat, liturgy, food, sponsorships, program, soccom, documentation, ushers, transportation, hosts, performers, logistics, and all other committees and teams—thank you.

For three months of preparation, you offered your sleepless nights and your unseen work to the service of this national convention. You were the "presence" Fr. Nat spoke of in his opening message—the quiet, powerful force that made these four meaningful days of encounter happen.

On behalf of the hundreds of delegates whose hearts this convention touched, thank you for your incredible gift to the Church and to the mission of vocations. ❤️‍🔥

WATCH: On the last day of the 29th DVP National Convention, we caught up with three of our delegates and asked them two simple questions:

How was your convention experience in Iloilo?
What is your biggest takeaway about Vocation?

Their answers are a beautiful testament to the spirit of communion, learning, and renewal that filled our four days together. ☺️💙

DAY 4: Pagpasalamat (Thanksgiving) ✨❤️

Our journey together culminated in gratitude and mission. From an impactful homily on co-discernment to the solemn Oath-Taking of our new officers and the Closing Mass, Day 4 was a beautiful and hopeful conclusion. The journey doesn't end here; it truly begins now. Bokasyon, Bukas sa Misyon!

Salamat gid, Iloilo! Until we meet again.

DAY 3: Bukas Sa Misyon (Called. Formed. Sent) 🔥

The fire was lit! Day 3 was a powerful call to be "Sent in Mission." We were challenged to move from maintenance to a missionary spirit, and to "set the world on fire" with the love of Christ. This was the day our hearts were prepared for the great send-off.

What's your favorite part of this day?

DAY 2: Pag-updanay (Journeying Together)🚶‍➡️🚶‍♀️‍➡️

A day of deep listening and profound communion. We were nourished by the wisdom of our bishops on "Journeying Together" and being "Called in Communion," we practiced synodality in our "Conversation in the Spirit," and we chose our new leaders together. Day 2 was all about reflecting on the bonds that unite us in mission.

What's your most unforgettable insight from this day?

“I need to say that — you need to stop being a promoter,” Gaa said, stressing vocational accompaniment rather than persuasion or advocacy roles.

“Because when you remain a promoter, you become an advocate of the candidate,” he said, cautioning against distorted formation dynamics.
