๐ Short Devotional
When we must speak hard truths, do it with the Three Cโs: Concern, Clarity, and Control, reflecting Godโs heart, proclaiming a clear saving truth, and relying on the Spirit to guide our tone and self-control. Speak truth so it restores and disciplines toward maturity, not to shame; correction given in love points people back to obedience and growth in Christ.
๐ Reflection Question
Which of the Three Cโs (Concern, Clarity, Control) do you need to practice most before you speak?
๐ญ Reflection
God cares for people and acts on their behalf; our hard words must come from a posture of compassion and willingness to sacrifice for their good. The message must be plain and rooted in gospel truth and we donโt dilute the call to repentance or encourage backward steps, and we model the faith by imitating godly examples. God is a God of order; the Holy Spirit gives self-control so our emotions, words, and actions are disciplined and guided by truth, producing fruit like love, peace, and self-control. Before confronting a friend about repeated harmful behavior, pray to adopt concern (seek their good), prepare clear specific examples tied to biblical truth, and ask the Spirit for calm words and self-control so the conversation builds rather than destroys.
๐๐ป Prayer
Lord, give me a heart shaped by Your concern, words shaped by Your truth, and a spirit guided by Your control. Help me speak difficult things with compassion and clarity, and grant me self-control so my words restore and lead others closer to You. Amen.
