‎25 August | Memorial of St. Louis, King and St. Joseph Calasanz, Priest
‎
‎Faith, justice, and humble service marked the life of Saint Louis, King of France. Though entrusted with the responsibility of ruling a kingdom, he sought to govern with wisdom, fairness, and concern for the poor. He remained devoted to prayer and the Church, striving to make his leadership a reflection of his faith. Recognized as saint by Pope Boniface VIII in 1297, he is remembered as a model of Christian kingship and justice.
‎
‎Saint Joseph Calasanz dedicated his life to educating and serving children, especially those who were poor and unable to receive an education. He founded the Piarist Fathers, establishing schools where young people could receive both academic and Christian formation. Through his perseverance and trust in God, he became a witness to the importance of education rooted in faith. He was canonized by Pope Clement XIII in 1767.

‎As we commemorate these holy servants of God, may we learn from Saint Louis to lead with justice and humility, and from Saint Joseph Calasanz to serve others through compassionate love and faithful dedication.

‎
‎Called by Christ to become one of the Twelve Apostles, Saint Bartholomew faithfully followed Jesus and devoted his life to proclaiming the Gospel. Traditionally identified with Nathanael, he was among those who witnessed the life, death, and Resurrection of Christ. His life reflected a sincere faith and a willingness to answer God’s call.
‎
‎After the Resurrection, he carried the Gospel to distant lands. Christian tradition holds that he preached in regions including Asia Minor, India, and Greater Armenia, where he gave his life as a martyr. His enduring witness has been honored by the Church since the earliest centuries of Christianity.
‎
‎May the example of Saint Bartholomew lead us to a deeper faith and a courageous response to God’s call. May we remain faithful witnesses of Christ in our daily lives.
