“And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit...” — Acts 2:4

Today, we celebrate the birth of the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church. Pentecost is a beautiful reminder that the Church was not created by human effort, but born through the power of the Holy Spirit.

What began in the Upper Room became the living Church of Christ—reminding us that we are never left alone. The Holy Spirit dwells within us, guiding our every step, uniting us as one body, and equipping us to continue the mission of Christ with faith, love, and boldness.

Come, Holy Spirit, renew the hearts of Your faithful and kindle in them the fire of Your love.

Have a blessed and grace-filled Pentecost Sunday!

MAY 18 | FEAST DAY OF ST. CLARE OF ASSISI

Founder of the Poor Clares, patron of television and good weather, and known as the “Defender of the Eucharist.”

Born into a wealthy family, Saint Clare chose a life devoted to God after being inspired by the preaching of Saint Francis of Assisi. Leaving behind her riches, she embraced a life of prayer, humility, and service.

One Christmas night, though too ill to attend Mass, Saint Clare prayed faithfully and was miraculously able to see and hear the entire liturgy from her room — a moment that led to her being recognized as the patron saint of television.

“We become what we love and who we love shapes what we become.” — Saint Clare of Assisi

MAY 17 | FEAST OF ST. PASCHAL BAYLON

Today, we joyfully celebrate the Feast of St. Paschal Baylon, the humble Franciscan friar known for his deep love for the Holy Eucharist and his life of simplicity, prayer, and devotion. Through his quiet holiness and unwavering faith, St. Paschal became a powerful witness of humility and complete trust in God.

Born in Spain in 1540, St. Paschal Baylon came from a poor family and spent much of his youth working as a shepherd before entering the Franciscan Order. Though simple and uneducated, he became widely known for his wisdom, humility, and extraordinary devotion to the Blessed Sacrament, dedicating his life to prayer and service to God.

“God is as really present in the consecrated Host, as He is, in the glory of Heaven.” — St. Paschal Baylon

MAY 17 | ASCENSION OF THE LORD

Today, we celebrate the Ascension of the Lord a reminder that Christ’s mission did not end on earth, but continues through each of us. As He ascended into heaven, He entrusted His disciples with the call to bring hope, love, and faith to the world. May this solemnity inspire us to lift our hearts toward God and live with renewed purpose and courage each day.

The Ascension is not a goodbye, but a promise of Christ’s constant presence in our lives. As we journey in faith, may we remain steadfast in prayer, united in love, and committed to sharing His light with others. Let this celebration renew our trust that where Christ has gone, we are also called to follow with hope and joy.

3 DAYS TO GO BEFORE SAYAW SA OBANDO 2026!

Only 3 days to go before the much-awaited Obando Fertility Rites begins! Experience three days of faith, devotion, culture, and joyful dancing as thousands of devotees gather to honor the saints and offer prayers for love, family, thanksgiving, and blessings. Let the music, tradition, and spirit of the festival bring everyone together in celebration.

The celebration lasts for three days: May 17 for Saint Paschal Baylon, May 18 for Saint Clare of Assisi, and May 19 for Our Lady of Salambao. The traditional dancing also continues throughout the three-day feast.

Thousands of people travel to Obando to celebrate the feast, dancing in honor of Saint Clare of Assisi as they pray for children. The dance itself becomes a form of prayer. The fandango combines movements of the feet, hands, and hips, symbolizing the “Spirit of Life” entering the womb.
