To ignite the fire of faith in this digital age, the UST JHS Religious Clubs spearheaded the Grade 8 Recollection 2026 with the theme "Growing in Hope as Part of God’s Family” at the Benavides Building last February 28.

At the start of the event, the religious club officers conducted the morning praise and general introduction to the Grade 8 students followed by their recollection session guided by the Dominican Brothers in which a series of reflective activities took place in the classrooms.

Following a short break, the students gathered at the Santisimo Rosario Parish for the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Simultaneously, a spiritual activity titled 'Scroll with Hope. Post with Purpose. Live in the Eucharist' was held, highlighting the example of Saint Carlo Acutis’ mission to use social media as a tool for faith.

The afternoon program began with the enthronement of the relic of St. Carlo Acutis followed by a short catechesis by Mr. Ace Ross P. Arceo.

“Carlos’ life teaches us that: holiness is possible in every generation, technology can be used for God’s glory, friendship can lead others to Christ, and lastly, huwag natin kakalimutan, the Eucharist is the source of Christian life,” Arceo mentioned.

Ensuing the short catechesis, The Feast Manila was welcomed on stage to perform and guide the students in praise and worship, opening with the song “Palagi” by TJ Monterde.

Rev. Fr. Orlando Aceron presided over the Eucharistic Celebration, urging the students to follow the example of Saint Carlo Acutis.

From the quiet moments of confession to the high-energy praise and worship with The Feast, the Grade 8 Recollection 2026 was a journey of coming home to the Father, proving that even in a digital world, the heart's true connection is found in the Eucharist.

"As the Recollection awaits the Grade 8 Students, let us to know their companion in this spiritual journey. 💙

For our Grade 8 Learners, they are accompanied by 𝗦𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗼 𝗔𝗰𝘂𝘁𝗶𝘀, the patron saint of the internet and the youth. In addition, he is known for being the first millenial saint, notable for his devotion to the 𝗛𝗼𝗹𝘆 𝗘𝘂𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁 exhibiting this through his website that catalogues Eucharistic Miracles in the hopes of bringing young people back to God. 💡💻

His faith and charisma inspire us, as Young Thomasians, to return back to God this Recollection and that we may do everything in His name and for His greater glory. 🌟

𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝗦𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗼 𝗔𝗰𝘂𝘁𝗶𝘀, 𝙥𝙧𝙖𝙮 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙪𝙨. 🙏🏻"

"The Dominican Brothers are living witnesses of faith in action, dedicating their lives to prayer, study, and service in the spirit of St. Dominic. Guided by truth, compassion, and humility, they continue to serve as mentors and spiritual guides within the Thomasian community, inspiring others to seek wisdom with sincerity and purpose.

As we journey through Recollection 2026, their presence reminds Young Thomasians to deepen their faith and to live out hope and love in their daily lives. May their example encourage us to respond to God’s call with courage, devotion, and a heart open to growth. 🙏✨

Young Thomasians, let us prepare ourselves for a time of prayer and worship as we warmly welcome 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗹𝗮 to the halls of our beloved school. The association is known for bringing the faithful together in worship. They have become a beacon of faith and hope, that encourages fellowship amongst God's people. In this recollection, we gather together to reunite with the Lord and praise Him for His overflowing love. 🌟

With The Feast, as one family, let us sing prayers of praise to the Lord, Most High, in solemn gratitude for His blessings and grace etched in our hearts. 🤍"

We sometimes hear the word "RELIC" from our CLE and AP teachers, but do we really know what it means? 🤔

In the Catholic Faith, relics are associated with a sacred person. These could be relics from a saint's body or objects used by the saint during his or her lifetime. Relics encouraged faith and served as a reminder of holy lives.

During the Grade 7 Recollection, the first class relic (from the bone) of St Thomas Aquinas visited our school. For this Saturday's recollection, we will welcome the Pilgrim Relics of St. Carlo Acutis, the new millenial saint.

The journey of faith continues, Young Thomasians! ✨

The recollection for our Grade 8 learners is just around the corner. Let us open our hearts to reconnect, grow, and reflect on His everlasting love and unending grace.

In the days ahead, we will deepen our understanding of faith and discover new meaning through the wisdom and teachings of St. Thomas Aquinas. 🙏

See you soon, Grade 8! 💛

The season of Lent begins, calling the Thomasian Junior High School community into a time of reflection, sacrifice, and renewal. ✝️💜 For 40 days, we prepare our hearts for Holy Week and Easter by growing deeper in faith and discipline.

Through fasting, Catholics ages 18 to 59 are called to practice self-discipline on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday by having one full meal and two smaller meals that together do not equal another full meal. The sick and those with valid reasons are excused, as the Church values both spiritual growth and well-being.

Through abstinence, Catholics 14 years old and above refrain from eating meat on Ash Wednesday, Good Friday, and all Fridays of Lent. This simple yet meaningful sacrifice is a sign of obedience and love, reminding us of Christ’s own sacrifice for us.

Beyond fasting and abstinence, we are also encouraged to deepen our commitment to prayer and almsgiving, strengthening our relationship with God and extending compassion to those in need.

As one Thomasian JHS community, may this Lenten season move us beyond routine and into real conversion of heart. Let this be a time for sincere reflection and commitment to serve with love and integrity. Let us journey together in faith, prayer, and hope. 💜
