Happy Birthday, AJ! πŸŽ‰

Today, we thank Almighty God for the gift of our beloved President, AJ, whose leadership, dedication, and commitment continue to inspire the members of Pax Romana – AB Unit.

Through his service and willingness to lead, he has helped strengthen our community and remind us of our shared mission to live out our faith through friendship, service, and solidarity. May his leadership continue to be guided by wisdom, humility, and a heart devoted to God and others.

As we celebrate his special day, we offer our prayers for his continued health, joy, and success in all his endeavors. May the Blessed Virgin Mary, our Heavenly Mother, continue to intercede for him and accompany him in his journey of service.

β€œThe Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.” β€” Numbers 6:24–26

Almighty Father, we raise our hearts to You in gratitude for the wonders of creation of which we are part, for Your providence in sustaining us in our needs, and for Your wisdom that guides the course of the universe.

We acknowledge our sins against You and the rest of creation. We have not been good stewards of Nature. We have confused Your command to subdue the earth. The environment is made to suffer our wrongdoing, and now we reap the harvest of our abuse and indifference.

Typhoons, heavy rains and floods occur in increasing number and intensity.

We turn to You, our loving Father, and beg forgiveness for our sins. We ask that we, our loved ones and our hard earned possessions be spared from the threat of calamities, natural and man-made.

We beseech You to inspire us all to grow into responsible stewards of Your creation, and generous neighbors to those in need. Amen.

Our Lady of thet Most Holy Rosary, pray for us!
St. Thomas More, pray for us!

Today, we commemorate the Memorial of St. Roch, a pilgrim and confessor who devoted his life to serving those afflicted by illness and suffering.

St. Roch is remembered for his deep compassion for the sick, especially those suffering from the plague. Rather than turning away from those in need, he placed himself at their service, trusting in God’s providence and becoming an instrument of healing and hope.

May St. Roch intercede for all those who are sick and suffering, especially those affected by disease, calamities, and other hardships. May his example inspire us to remain compassionate toward those who are vulnerable, to serve those in need, and to place our trust in God even amid uncertainty.

As we continue to face heavy rains, flooding, and other dangers brought by severe weather, may St. Roch pray for the safety of our communities, protect those most vulnerable, and strengthen all who are responding to those in need.

β€œSt. Roch, pray for us, that we may remain steadfast in faith and generous in service.”

Today, we celebrate the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, our Mother.

Mary’s Assumption into Heaven, one of the Church’s Marian dogmas, reminds us of the fulfillment of Mary’s earthly duties and her joining his Son in His kingdom. It also serves as an indication that every believer, too, may one day overcome physical death and participate in Christ’s resurrection.

May Mary, our mother, guide, teach, and take care of each and every one of us, especially now that the whole nation is experiencing heavy downpours of rain and facing the dangers and uncertainties brought by the severe weather. May she keep every family safe, protect those who are most vulnerable, and give strength and courage to those affected by the floods and other hardships.

"Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."

Today, we celebrate the Solemnity of Our Holy Father, St. Dominic de Guzman, Founder of the Order of Preachers!

As Thomasians, we begin our academic year with this great feast, remembering St. Dominic’s conviction that the wood of the desk can become the wood of the Crossβ€”an altar upon which hours of study may be offered in service of truth, faith, and preaching.

Walking barefoot and armed only with prayer, study, and love, St. Dominic put his learning at the service of the Church and reached out to those who were spiritually and materially poor. His life reminds us that education is not merely for knowledge, but a gift to be offered in service of others.

May St. Dominic pray for us and illumine our hearts, our desks, and our classrooms, that our pursuit of knowledge may always lead us closer to truth and to the service of God and our neighbor.

β€œO light of the Church, teacher of truth, rose of patience, ivory of chastity, You freely poured forth the waters of wisdom, preacher of grace, unite us with the blessed.”

The UST Pax Romana Arts and Letters Unit joins the faithful in mourning the passing of Rev. Fr. Ernesto De Leon. We remember his dedicated ministry and invaluable contributions to catechesis and faith formation in the Philippines. Our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.

The UST Pax Romana Central Coordinating Council joins the Catholic faithful in mourning the passing of Rev. Fr. Ernesto De Leon, former executive secretary of the CBCP Episcopal Commission on Evangelization and Catechesis (ECEC), who died Saturday, June 13, at 59.

We remember his life and ministry, especially his tireless dedication to catechesis and the faith formation of the Filipino people. We extend our heartfelt condolences and prayers to his family, friends, and the communities he so devotedly served.

Let us pray,
O God, who among your apostolic priests raised up your servant, Fr. Ernesto, to the dignity of the priesthood, grant, we beseech you, that he may also be admitted to their glorious company in heaven.
V. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord.
R. And let perpetual light shine upon him.
V. May his soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
R. Amen.
