📖 HAGGAI (HAGEO) 1–2

WHEN EVERYTHING SEEMS NOT ENOUGH, CHECK YOUR PRIORITIES.

Dumating na ba tayo sa point na kahit ginawa na natin ang lahat, pero hindi pa rin sapat?

Nag-effort na tayo.
Nagtrabaho na tayo.
Ginawa na natin ang kaya natin.
Pero somehow, parang kulang pa rin.

Sa Haggai 1, ganito rin ang naging situation ng mga Israelites.

“Marami kayong inihasik, ngunit kakaunti ang inyong ani. May pagkain nga kayo, ngunit kulang. May inumin nga kayo, pero hindi rin sapat... At may tinatanggap kayong suweldo, ngunit parang butas ang pitakang pinaglalagyan ninyo nito.”
— Haggai 1:6

They were working, but something was still missing.

Then God asked them:

“Nararapat bang nakatira kayo sa magagandang bahay habang nananatiling wasak ang tahanang ito?”
— Haggai 1:4

The problem was not simply that they were working hard. Their priorities were out of order.

Nauna ang sarili nilang bahay at sariling needs, habang napabayaan ang tahanan ng Diyos.

Kaya sinabi ng Panginoon:

“Ngayon, umakyat kayo sa bundok at kumuha ng mga kahoy, at itayo ninyong muli ang tahanan. Sa ganitong paraan, masisiyahan ako at mapaparangalan.”
— Haggai 1:8

Minsan, kapag feeling natin hindi enough ang lahat, maybe we need to stop and ask:

“Lord, tama pa ba ang priorities ko?”

Because priority determines direction.
Direction determines destination.

Kaya sinabi ni Jesus:

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”
— Matthew 6:33

Sa Haggai 2, matapos nilang sumunod at muling itayo ang tahanan ng Diyos, nagbigay ang Panginoon ng encouragement at promise:

“Kahit wala nang natirang trigo, at wala nang bunga ang mga ubas at ang mga kahoy ng igos, pomegranata, at olibo, pagpapalain naman kayo ng PANGINOON simula sa araw na ito.” — Haggai 2:19

When everything seems not enough, check your priorities.

Maybe the answer is not always “Do more.”

Sometimes, it is “Put God first.”

Seek Him first.
Put Him first.
And let Him lead the rest. 🤍

John 12:1-8

Jesus Is Everything to Mary 🤍

Sa story ng Breaking of the Alabaster Jar, nakita natin ang tunay na pagmamahal ni Mary kay Jesus.

May dalawang tao tayong makikita dito—si Mary at si Judas. Magkaiba ang response at priority nila toward Jesus.

Para kay Mary, Jesus was everything. Kaya ibinigay niya kay Jesus ang isang bagay na mahalaga sa kanya. Hindi dahil may hinihingi siya, kundi dahil mahal niya si Jesus.

Samantalang si Judas, instead na makita ang value ng ginawa ni Mary para kay Jesus, mas nag-focus siya sa halaga ng perfume at kung ano ang maaaring gawin dito.

Minsan, ganito rin tayo. We can look at Jesus as someone we only run to when we need something—parang magician o genie na kapag may kailangan tayo, saka tayo lalapit.

But Jesus is not someone we should only seek because of what He can give us.

Jesus is God, and He remains God whether we come to Him or not. Hindi nababawasan kung sino Siya kapag hindi tayo lumalapit sa Kanya. He is still God, and He will never change.

Kaya bilang mga tagasunod ni Jesus, let us have the heart of Mary—a heart that sees Jesus as everything, loves Him, obeys Him, and serves Him, not only because of what He can give, but simply because we love Him for who He is. 🤍
