So much is happening around us that we worry and forget to live in the present. Sometimes we’re afraid to be happy because we think something bad will happen. Sometimes we grow impatient and want to rush ahead.

Can’t we just live in the present—in our current emotions, decisions, direction, and responsibilities? Can’t we simply be present for ourselves and give ourselves time to process?

All of these things are part of life; one cannot exist without the other.
God designed it that way. Appreciate what is in front of you, and look forward to what He has promised.

There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens.
He has made everything beautiful in its time.

"I know that there is nothing better for people than to be happy and to do good while they live. That each of them may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all their toil—this is the gift of God."

Ecclesiastes 3:12-13

All of us have our own version of “When I grow up…”

When we were young, we had so much hope for the future. We dreamed without overthinking, trusted easily, and enjoyed life without asking if everything had to be productive or meaningful.

And then, suddenly, we grew up.

Trials.
Disappointments.
Unmet expectations.
Betrayal.
Loneliness.

We begin grieving the version of ourselves who seemed lighter, freer, and more alive. We long for the joy and wonder we once had.

And sometimes, in the middle of all this, we find ourselves asking, “Where do I go from here?”

When the future feels uncertain and we can no longer see the way forward, Psalm 23 reminds us that we may not know the way, but we know the Shepherd.

“The LORD is my shepherd; I have all that I need. Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the LORD forever.” (Psalm 23:1,6)

Maybe we can't see a way forward right now, but God isn't limited by what we can see. He is still preparing, providing, and pursuing us.

We don't have to manufacture hope by ourselves. Sometimes faith is simply saying, “Lord, I don't know what You're doing or how this will get better, but I'm choosing to stay, trust, and obey.”

Bring Him your grief, your questions, your disappointments, and even your longing for who you used to be.

Your story isn't over.

His goodness is still pursuing you.
His love is still pursuing you.

Have you experienced being at the peak of your faith, when suddenly, the Lord sends you somewhere hidden and all the things that used to sustain you suddenly wasn't enough?

Elijah knew that season well.

After God used him mightily, He told Elijah to hide by the brook Cherith (1 Kings 17:3).

There, God provided.
The brook gave him water.
Ravens brought him food.

For a while, the brook was enough.

Until it dried up.

Maybe you've known a drying brook too.

A friendship that slowly drifted.
A family relationship that became a source of hurt.
A once-abundant income that suddenly wasn't enough.

Sometimes, God allows the familiar to disappear—not because He has abandoned us, but because He is preparing us for something new.

Don't mistake hiddenness for abandonment.

Cherith was not the end of Elijah's story.
It was preparation for Mount Carmel.

Before Elijah stood before hundreds on the mountain,
he first learned to sit beside a quiet brook.

Perhaps your hidden season isn't holding you back.

Perhaps God is preparing you for your mountain. 🤍

Life will overwhelm you in different ways and in different forms. You will fail to handle things on your own, you will not have enough wisdom, or you might even reach your limit where you just don’t have at all what it takes to keep going. When these things happen, what do you do?

David did pray and asked the Lord to lead him to the higher rock—a rock higher than His enemies, a rock higher than the storm.

Seek the rock. Seek Someone who is above you. You will need Someone who holds your life and everything around you to carry you through.

A song called, When He Giveth More Grace by Don Moen beautifully captures it this way...

“When we have exhausted our store of endurance
When our strength has failed ere the day is half done
When we reach the end of our hoarded resources
Our Father’s full giving is only begun.”

17 years ago, God moved in the heart of the city.
17 years later, He is still moving!! 🔥

In every season, we were held by the One who holds all things together.
We found home, we found family, and it was all because of Jesus!

Even to some who God also called to a different season to reach out to more people for Him, we remember you, and we celebrate with you!

Together, our heart is to keep sharing Jesus until every student, every campus, and every nation is reached.

A story that started with a simple step of obedience.

Because of God’s faithfulness, many have heard the Gospel—and many more are yet to hear it.

This is a tribute to the amazing work God has done through Elevate UBelt, told through the lens and stories of the hearts He has touched along the way.

17 years of grace.
17 years of faithfulness.
And the story is still being written.

Happy 17th Anniversary, Elevate UBelt! 🤍
