The cross is an extremity of God in that Christ came and died for us when we were still yet sinners. The expectations of God for each one of us is very extreme.
1. An extreme disciple denies himself that there is no earthly security
-if you follow Jesus, there is noting you can trust on besides God
-not that there is no security, but only the security that God is faithful and he will provide
-yo
u are not a disciple if you are not prepared to give everything
-the bare minimum for being a disciple is extreme discipleship
2. An extreme disciple takes up the cross daily casting aside all earthly ties
-extreme discipleship is normal discipleship
-Jesus must come first before everybody else in your life if a choice must be made
-leave all earthly ties and follow Jesus
3. An extreme disciple follows jesus with no earthly distractions
-don't let anything distract you when God asks you to do something
-true radical discipleship requires laying down everything when God says go
-the cost of discipleship can be high
