История Православия в Маниле берет свое начало в 1930х годах, когда временное попечение о проживавших там иммигрантах совершалось священниками Пекинской Духовной Миссии Русской Православной Церкви. В 1934 году было принято решение об учреждении прихода в честь Иверской иконы Божией Матери, и уже 7 февраля 1936 года настоятелем был назначен священник Михаил Ерохин. Вначале богослужения проводились в помещении предоставленным Англиканами, но уже вскоре в Маниле был построен замечательный храм. В 1945 году, история миссии прерывается: развернувшиеся военные действия Второй Мировой Войны стали причиной ухода русских иммигрантов. Война не пощадила и храм, который был разрушен при одной из бомбежек.
21 октября 2016 года на заседании Священного Синода Русской Православной Церкви управляющим приходами Московского Патриархата на Филиппинах был назначен архиепископ Солнечногорский Сергий (журнал № 99). Это решение последовало в ответ на обращения чад Русской Православной Церкви проживающих на Филиппинах.
В апреле 2017 года, в Манилу был направлен священник, открыт домовый храм в честь Иверской иконы Божией Матери.
