We are now in the middle of our series, No Longer Strangers.

Talk 3, God Has a Family, affirms that we are not strangers from one another.

Every single human being has equal dignity, equal identity, and equal inheritance—because we’re all children of God. No exception.

Even if we look at the world today, there is so much painful inequality. Which makes us think: “Maybe God loves some more than others.”

Sadly, inequality is the undeniable mark of the world around us.

But Ephesians says this is not God’s Plan.

In Ephesians 3, Paul gives a summary of everything he’s talked about so far and then prays that we’ll be able to understand—just a bit more—the greatest mystery of all— God’s awesome Love for us.

The key message of Talk 3: We are equally loved.

The Feast Light Hope courteously invites you on August 14, Friday at 8:00pm for the third talk of our series, "No Longer Strangers: A Deep Dive on Ephesians," entitled "God Has a Family."

August 11, 2026: Tuesday of the Nineteenth Week in Ordinary Time.

Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart.

Who is the greatest in the Kingdom of heaven?
Gospel | Matthew 18:1-5, 10, 12-14

"Dear Jesus, so often my heart desires to be seen, to be recognized, and to be called “great.” But You remind me that true greatness is found in humility and service, not in worldly achievement. Teach me to seek not my own glory but Yours alone.

Help me to rejoice when others are lifted up, and to find joy in serving quietly and faithfully. Remove any pride or comparison in my heart, and replace it with the desire to love, forgive, and serve as You do. May my life point others toward the greatness of Your love. Amen."

St. Clare, virgin, pray for us. 🙏

August 10 2026: Monday, Feast of St Lawrence, Deacon and Martyr

Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness but will have the light of life, says the Lord.

Where I Am, There Also will My Servant Be
Gospel | John 12:24-26

"Dear Lord Jesus, thank You for calling me to be Your servant and inviting me into Your work. Forgive me for the times I try to direct my own path while asking You to follow me, rather than simply following where You lead.

Give me the courage to walk in Your footsteps today - to love selflessly, speak truthfully, and serve humbly. When the road gets difficult, remind me of Your presence beside me. Teach me to seek the honor that comes from the Father alone, rather than the praise of the world.

May my life be a living reflection of Your grace, and may where I go bring glory to Your name. Amen."

St Lawrence, Deacon and Martyr, pray for us. 🙏

Nneteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time.
Matthew 14:22-33

Immediately he made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead to the other side, while he dismissed the crowds.
And after he had dismissed the crowds, he went up the mountain by himself to pray. When evening came, he was there alone,
but by this time the boat, battered by the waves, was far from the land, for the wind was against them.
And early in the morning he came walking toward them on the sea.
But when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were terrified, saying, “It is a ghost!” And they cried out in fear.
But immediately Jesus spoke to them and said, “Take heart, it is I; do not be afraid.”
Peter answered him, “Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the water.”
He said, “Come.” So Peter got out of the boat, started walking on the water, and came toward Jesus. But when he noticed the strong wind, he became frightened, and beginning to sink, he cried out, “Lord, save me!”
Jesus immediately reached out his hand and caught him, saying to him, “You of little faith, why did you doubt?”
When they got into the boat, the wind ceased.
And those in the boat worshiped him, saying, “Truly you are the Son of God.”

Reflection:

When fear takes hold of you, quickly refocus on Jesus and the impossible becomes possible.

Lord, be my anchor when I feel overwhelmed by fear and worry.

St. Candida Maria of Jesus, pray for us.

August 8, 2026: Saturday of the Eighteenth Week in Ordinary Time.

Our Savior Jesus Christ has destroyed death and brought life to light through the Gospel.

If You have Faith the Size of a Mustard Seed
Gospel | Matthew 17:14-20

"Lord Jesus, Your words remind me that even the smallest seed of true faith holds great power. So often I allow fear, doubt, or discouragement to cloud my trust in You. Yet You tell me that just a little faith - planted, nurtured, and rooted in You - can move mountains.

Lord, increase my faith. Teach me to believe not in my own strength, but in Your boundless power. When I feel overwhelmed by obstacles, help me to remember that nothing is impossible for You. Let my heart rest in the promise that You are greater than any mountain I may face.

Help me to take that first step of faith today, however small it may seem. Water the mustard seed in my soul, and let it grow strong through prayer, trust, and surrender. May my life reflect a quiet but confident faith that moves hearts, changes lives, and glorifies You. Amen."

St. Dominic, priest, pray for us. 🙏

August 7 2026: Friday of the Eighteenth Week in Ordinary Time.

Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness; for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven.

Whoever Loses His Life for Jesus’ Sake Will Find It
Gospel | Matthew 16:24-28

"Lord Jesus, Your words challenge everything the world tells me about security, success, and control. I confess how often I try to clutch my life tightly - guarding my comfort, my plans, my reputation, and my own understanding of what is best for me. Yet, in my striving to save myself, I often find myself weary, anxious, and empty.

Give me the courage to loosen my grip. Teach me what it truly means to "lose my life" for Your sake - not out of fear or resignation, but out of absolute trust in Your goodness.
When I am called to sacrifice my comfort for Your truth, give me strength.

Remind me daily that true life isn't found in what I hold onto, but in what I freely entrust into Your hands. May my life be a reflection of Your love, poured out for others just as You poured out Your life for me. Amen."

Saint Cajetan, priest, pray for us. 🙏

August 6, 2026: Thursday, Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord.

This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well-pleased; listen to him.

This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased
Gospel | Matthew 17:1-9

"Heavenly Father, in the brilliance of Your light and the mystery of the cloud, You revealed Your beloved Son and asked us to listen to Him. May my life also become pleasing to You as I follow Your Son more faithfully each day.

Lord Jesus, teach me to recognize Your voice above all others. When life feels unclear or overshadowed by uncertainty, help me trust that Your light is still shining. When I am confused about what to do, remind me to pause and listen to You in prayer, in Scripture, and in quiet moments of grace.

O Holy Spirit, may my life reflect the light of that holy mountain - a life transformed by hearing and following Christ each day. Amen."

St. Hormisdas, pope, pray for us. 🙏

Lord, Even Dogs Eat Scraps That Fall From The Table of Their Masters
Gospel | Matthew 15:21-28

"Lord Jesus, thank You for Your boundless mercy that extends to everyone, without exception. Give me the persistent, humble faith of the Canaanite woman. When my prayers feel unanswered or when life feels heavy, help me to hold on to You with unwavering trust.

Remind me that even a "crumb" of Your grace is powerful enough to heal, restore, and guide me through any trial. Teach me to seek Your presence with humility and love. Amen."

St. Casian of Autun, pray for us. 🙏
