ST00002: The Spirit of Truth in the Bible: A Guiding Light

The Spirit of Truth is deeply embedded in the pages of the Bible, serving as a guiding force for believers. In Christian theology, the Spirit of Truth is often associated with the Holy Spirit, considered the third person of the Holy Trinity. This spiritual presence is portrayed as a source of divine guidance, wisdom, and illumination.

In the Gospel of John in the New Testament, Jesus refers to the Holy Spirit as the “ Spirit of Truth “ during his discourse with his disciples. For example in John 16:13 ( NIV ), Jesus says;

“ But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own, but will speak only what he hears, and he will tell what is yet to come “.

This promise encapsulates the essence of the Spirit of Truth – a celestial companion, guiding humanity to discern the truths of faith, morality, and existence. The Spirit's role is not only to reveal spiritual truths but also to convict individuals of their need for redemption and righteousness.

This indicates the role of the Holy Spirit in guiding believers, revealing divine truths, and providing understanding. The Spirit of Truth is then seen as a source of wisdom and comfort for followers of the Christian faith.

Throughout the Bible, the Spirit of Truth is depicted as a powerful force that empowers individuals with discernment. In 1 John 4:6, it is written, "We are from God, and whoever knows God listens to us, but whoever is not from God does not listen to us. This is how we recognize the Spirit of truth and the spirit of falsehood." This distinction emphasizes the transformative nature of the Spirit of Truth, shaping the hearts and minds of those attuned to its guidance.

The Spirit of Truth is also intimately connected to the concept of truthfulness and sincerity. In Ephesians 4:25, believers are urged, "Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to your neighbor, for we are all members of one body." This highlights the ethical dimension of the Spirit's influence, inspiring believers to embody truth in their words and actions.

Moreover, the Spirit of Truth serves as a source of comfort and assurance. In times of uncertainty or tribulation, believers are encouraged by the knowledge that the Spirit dwells within them, providing solace and divine guidance. Romans 8:16 declares, "The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children," reinforcing the intimate connection believers share with the Spirit of Truth.

Jesus refers both the Holy Spirit and the Spirit of Truth as the Advocate in John 14:26 and John 14: 16-17 respectively. Verse 26 tells us;

“ But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything, and remind you of all that I have said to you “

The term “ Advocate “ is being referred to in its literal sense as;

1. a person who publicly supports or recommends a particular cause or policy, and or;
2. a person who puts a case on someone else's behalf.

God is not a God of confusion but of peace. ( 1 Corinthians 14:33 ). From here you will understand the role the Advocate has to play. The Spirit of Truth is to guide people to all the truth and will teach people everything they need to know.

All church leaders trivialize the Word of God by putting God’s truth to follow human standards and the tradition of man. They are what the bible in Romans 1:30 describes as “ inventors of evil “. Not any of them holds the truth.

Jesus also talks about the role and authority of the Spirit of Truth.

“ He will glorify me, because he will take what is mine and declare it to you. 15 All that the Father has is mine. For this reason I said that he will take what is mine and declare it to you “ ( John 16:14-15 ).

Therefore, Jesus has given all the authority to the Spirit of Truth and that he will continue and assume the work of Jesus among other things.

In analysing John 16:13 there is no other Prophet who is coming in this generation but only the Spirit of Truth.

You must understand that to prophecy is not about foretelling the future. To prophecy is about the revelation of truth. When we speak of truth, we speak of facts - supported by biblical evidences, One of his mission is to accomplish Revelation 10:11 which reads;

“ You must prophesy again about many peoples and nations and languages and kings."

There are 144000 secrets hidden in the bible. We are now in the culmination of the opening of the seventh seal ( Revelation 8 ). The Spirit of Truth is going to reveal the contents of the seventh seal very soon in time for the “ Second Coming “ and at the same time to perform and accomplish Luke 4:18 which reads;

18 "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to let the oppressed go free, 19 to proclaim the year of the Lord's favour."

God has no religion. Jesus did not preach any religion nor He teaches people any religion. Jesus practiced spirituality. Romans 8 is the secret teachings of Christ about spirituality. Religion was only invented by people to suit their personal understanding of the bible. Religion thrives on fear to gain control of people. People have become prisoners of religion and are held in shackles by the church and religious leaders personal understanding of the bible. The Spirit of Truth is going to prove that religion is a lie and that they are wrong about sin, righteousness and judgement. Righteousness as no one knows God the Father. Judgement, that they preach that God is love and yet they also preach that a loving God is a cruel God that punishes sinners to eternal flame.

It is therefore one of the missions of the Spirit of Truth to preach the bible in its fullness throughout the world and to teach people the secret teachings of Christ in Romans 8.

In conclusion, the Spirit of Truth in the Bible is a multifaceted concept, encompassing guidance, discernment, ethical living, and spiritual assurance. It represents a divine presence that illuminates the path of truth for believers, encouraging them to live authentically and seek a deeper understanding of God's purpose. Embracing the Spirit of Truth, as articulated in the biblical narrative, invites believers into a transformative journey marked by wisdom, sincerity, and a profound connection with the divine which no other religion has achieved.

Introduction:
There are 4200 different religious denominations. There are also 45000 different Christian denominations globally according to the Centre for the Study of Global Christianity. And Christianity with thousands of years of trying to prove that God exists and the best they have is “ you will found out when you are dead “. None of them holds the truth about God.

In the diverse tapestry of religious beliefs, the concept of God stands at the core of faith and devotion. As people seek spiritual guidance and understanding, it is imperative for religious and church leaders to engage in a dialogue that goes beyond dogma and tradition. This article presents a challenge to these leaders: "Let God Be Proved True." It calls for a thoughtful exploration and demonstration of the truth of God's existence, inviting leaders to engage in a meaningful conversation that addresses the contemporary quest for authenticity and evidence.

1. Acknowledging Skepticism and Doubt:
In a world marked by skepticism and a demand for evidence, religious leaders must acknowledge and address the doubts that individuals may harbor. This challenge stems from a recognition that asserting the truth of God requires more than theological affirmations; it necessitates a bridge between faith and reason.

2. Encouraging Intellectual Engagement:
"Let God Be Proved True" is an invitation to religious and church leaders to foster intellectual engagement within their communities. Encouraging open discussions, addressing tough questions, and providing space for doubt can contribute to a more robust and authentic understanding of God.

3. Exploring Evidence and Experience:
Religious leaders are called to explore and articulate the evidence that supports the truth of God's existence. This extends beyond quoting scriptures and theological doctrines; it involves sharing personal and communal experiences that affirm the reality of God's presence and impact in people's lives.

4. Embracing Interfaith Dialogue:
The challenge to prove the truth of God also calls for an embrace of interfaith dialogue. Engaging with leaders from different religious traditions fosters mutual understanding and provides an opportunity to share diverse perspectives on the divine. This collaborative approach contributes to a more nuanced and inclusive understanding of God.

5. Addressing Moral and Ethical Questions:
The challenge invites religious leaders to address moral and ethical questions in the context of God's truth. Exploring how religious teachings align with contemporary ethical challenges and contribute to the betterment of society is crucial in proving the relevance and truthfulness of God's guidance.

6. Demonstrating Unity Amidst Diversity:
Religious leaders can prove the truth of God by demonstrating unity amidst diversity. Encouraging tolerance, acceptance, and cooperation among diverse religious communities showcases the transformative power of faith and bolsters the argument for the truth of God's unifying principles.

Conclusion:

ST00025 Salvation by Grace Through Righteousness in Faith: Understanding Matthew 24:22 and Matthew 11:27

The Bible teaches that **salvation is by grace through faith**, and this is foundational to the Christian understanding of God's redemptive plan for humanity. However, certain passages, like **Matthew 24:22** and **Matthew 11:27**, highlight aspects of God’s sovereignty, the role of His elect, and His foreknowledge, which help us understand why only the elect are worthy of salvation.

In this discussion, we will explore how salvation is by grace, through the **righteousness** of faith, and how God’s **foreknowledge** and His **election** are connected to His redemptive purposes.

1. **Salvation by Grace Through Faith: The Foundation (Ephesians 2:8-9)**

Before we delve into the specific meaning of **Matthew 24:22** and **Matthew 11:27**, it’s important to grasp the foundation of salvation. **Ephesians 2:8-9** makes it clear that salvation is a **gift of grace**:
*“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.”*

Salvation is a free gift from God, given through **grace**—His unmerited favor. We cannot earn salvation by our good deeds or works; it is only by trusting in the work of Christ on the cross that we are saved. **Faith** in Christ’s righteousness is what brings us into a right relationship with God.

This underscores the key point: **Righteousness comes through faith**, and that faith itself is a gift of grace. We are saved because of Christ’s righteousness, not our own, and by trusting in Him, we are justified before God.

2. **Matthew 24:22 – The Elect and Salvation**

In **Matthew 24:22**, Jesus speaks about the end times and the great tribulation:
*“If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened.”*

Here, Jesus emphasizes that **God’s elect**—those chosen by Him—are at the heart of His plan to shorten the days of the tribulation. This is not just to preserve humanity but specifically to ensure that **the elect**, those who are saved, endure and are preserved for salvation.

The term "elect" refers to those whom God has **chosen** for salvation from before the foundation of the world (Ephesians 1:4). This election is not based on any merit of their own but on God’s sovereign grace. These are the ones God has determined will be saved, and for their sake, He ensures that they will endure to the end.

The **worthiness** of the elect does not come from anything they have done, but from the righteousness of Christ, which they receive through faith. Their faith is not self-generated but is a result of God’s grace, and their **election** is a demonstration of God’s sovereign will and foreknowledge.

3. **Matthew 11:27 – The Foreknowledge of God**

**Matthew 11:27** says:
*“All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.”*

This verse highlights the **sovereignty of God** in revealing Himself to humanity. It shows that **knowing God** is not something we can achieve on our own; it is a gift from God, given to those whom Christ chooses to reveal the Father.

This speaks to God’s **foreknowledge**—His divine knowledge of who will come to salvation. God, in His omniscience, knows who will respond in faith to His grace. This knowledge is not passive but active; God knows because He **elects** and **chooses**. Those to whom Christ reveals the Father are the ones who receive the gift of faith and are drawn into a saving relationship with Him.

Thus, in **Matthew 11:27**, we see that **God’s foreknowledge** is tied to His sovereign election. He knows who will be saved because He has chosen them, and He reveals Himself to them through Christ. The elect are those to whom God gives the **gift of faith**, enabling them to believe and be saved.

4. **The Righteousness of the Elect: Worthy of Salvation**

Why are the **elect** the ones worthy of salvation? It’s not because of anything inherent in them but because they are **clothed in the righteousness of Christ**. **Philippians 3:9** says:
*“...not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ—the righteousness that comes from God on the basis of faith.”*

The elect are **worthy** of salvation not because of their own righteousness but because of the righteousness of Christ, which they receive through faith. This is the essence of salvation by grace. God’s grace calls the elect, gives them faith, and imputes to them the righteousness of Christ, making them worthy of eternal life.

Their **worthiness** is not based on their actions or inherent goodness, but solely on the fact that they have received the **gift of salvation** by grace. God, in His mercy, has chosen to reveal Himself to them, giving them the faith to believe and the grace to persevere.

5. **Grace, Faith, and Endurance**

Salvation is by grace through faith, but **faith must endure**. **Matthew 24:13** says:
*“But the one who endures to the end will be saved.”*

This endurance is not something the elect do on their own; it is a result of God’s grace sustaining them. In **Philippians 1:6**, Paul writes:
*“He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”*

God ensures that those He has elected will endure to the end, remaining faithful through trials, tribulations, and challenges. This perseverance is a mark of the elect, showing that their faith is genuine and that God is working in them to bring them to salvation.

6. **The Connection Between Election, Grace, and Faith**

The relationship between **election**, **grace**, and **faith** is intertwined. God’s **election** flows from His sovereign grace, and through this grace, He grants **faith** to the elect. This faith is the means by which they receive salvation, trusting in the righteousness of Christ. Their faith, sustained by God’s grace, enables them to endure to the end, making them worthy of salvation.

God’s **foreknowledge** is not a passive observation of future events but an active choice to bring the elect into a saving relationship with Him. This foreknowledge is tied to His will and purpose, and it is the elect who, by grace, are given the gift of salvation.

Conclusion: Salvation by Grace Through Faith and the Elect’s Worthiness**

Salvation is the result of God’s **sovereign grace**, extended to humanity through faith in Jesus Christ. The elect, as described in **Matthew 24:22**, are those who are **chosen by God**, not because of their merit but because of His divine purpose and grace. They are **worthy of salvation** because they have received the righteousness of Christ through faith, and God ensures their perseverance.

In **Matthew 11:27**, we see the deep connection between **God’s foreknowledge** and His election. Christ reveals the Father to those whom He has chosen, and these chosen ones, the elect, are those who place their faith in Him and are saved.

Thus, **salvation is by grace through righteousness in faith**, and only those chosen by God—the elect—are made worthy through the righteousness of Christ. God’s sovereign grace and foreknowledge work together to bring about His redemptive plan, ensuring that those who are saved will endure to the end and be brought into eternal life.

ST00012: Religion: Addressing Religious Fanaticism

Religion, a profound source of meaning and purpose for billions of people worldwide, has the power to inspire acts of compassion, altruism, and unity. However, the history of humanity also reveals instances where religious fervor has been distorted into fanaticism, leading to division, conflict, and even violence. In this exploration, we delve into the complex relationship between religion and fanaticism, seeking to understand the factors that contribute to extreme beliefs and behaviors.

Understanding Fanaticism:
Religious fanaticism often arises when individuals adopt an extreme and uncompromising adherence to their religious beliefs. This fervor can manifest in various forms, from intolerance of differing perspectives to engaging in radical actions driven by a perceived divine mandate.

Roots of Fanaticism:
1. Interpretation of Sacred Texts: The interpretation of sacred texts plays a crucial role in shaping religious beliefs. Fanaticism may emerge when individuals interpret religious scriptures in a literal and rigid manner, excluding the possibility of diverse interpretations.

2. Identity and Belonging: Religion can provide a sense of identity and belonging. In certain cases, individuals may embrace extreme ideologies as a way to strengthen their identity, especially when faced with societal or cultural changes.

3. Fear and Uncertainty: Economic, political, or social instability can create an environment where individuals turn to religious fanaticism as a response to fear and uncertainty. Fanaticism may offer a perceived sense of order and purpose in chaotic times.

Addressing Religious Fanaticism:
1. Promoting Interfaith Dialogue: Encouraging open and respectful conversations among people of different faiths fosters understanding and breaks down stereotypes. Interfaith dialogue can dismantle the divisive narratives that fuel fanaticism.

2. Education and Critical Thinking: Promoting religious literacy and critical thinking skills can empower individuals to interpret sacred texts thoughtfully and critically. Education serves as a powerful tool in countering the simplistic and dogmatic views that lead to fanaticism.

3. Fostering Inclusivity: Emphasizing inclusivity within religious communities helps counteract fanaticism. When individuals feel accepted and valued regardless of their beliefs, they are less likely to adopt extremist ideologies.

Religion has the potential to be a force for good, promoting compassion, justice, and unity. However, when fanaticism takes root, the positive aspects of faith can be overshadowed by divisive and harmful ideologies. By understanding the roots of religious fanaticism and actively promoting tolerance, education, and inclusivity, societies can work towards a world where diverse beliefs coexist harmoniously, fostering a more peaceful and understanding global community.

“ Do not put through God’s truth to suit human concepts and standards nor that you interpret the sacred text literally or you are undermining the power of God “.

ST00035 Topic: Do You Love God or Only Fear God? Understanding Love and Fear in Relation to God's Nature.

In Christian theology, the concepts of loving God and fearing God often intertwine, yet they represent different dimensions of a believer’s relationship with Him. Scripture teaches that God is love (1 John 4:8) and that perfect love casts out fear (1 John 4:18). At the same time, the fear of the Lord is a recurring biblical theme, regarded as the beginning of wisdom (Proverbs 9:10). This raises a vital question: Do we love God, or do we merely fear Him? How do these two concepts reconcile, especially in light of the teaching that “fear has to do with punishment” and those who fear “are not made perfect in love” (1 John 4:18)?

Added to this, religion teaches people that God is love and yet this loving God punishes sinners to eternal flame. This teaching is in contrast to God’s true nature. Religion thrives on fear to gain control of people.

1. **God Is Love (1 John 4:8)

The Bible emphasizes that the essence of God is love. His love is sacrificial, self-giving, and unconditional, as demonstrated in the life and death of Jesus Christ (John 3:16).

To love God is to respond to this great love that He first extended to humanity. Loving God involves deep devotion, gratitude, and a desire to live in relationship with Him.

Loving God naturally extends to loving others (1 John 4:19-21). True love for God manifests in our actions and attitudes toward those around us.

2. **Fear of God: Reverence or Terror?**

The “fear of God” in the Bible can be understood in two ways: reverential awe and terror. Reverential fear acknowledges God’s holiness, power, and majesty, leading to respect and submission to His will.

However, fear as terror or dread, especially the fear of punishment, is not what God intends for His people. This kind of fear reflects a lack of trust in God’s love and grace.

As 1 John 4:18 says, *“There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.”*

3. **Love vs. Fear in Our Relationship with God**

Many people may approach God from a place of fear—fear of judgment, punishment, or displeasing Him. While the fear of God can lead to repentance and moral living, it should not be the foundation of a mature Christian relationship.

A relationship based solely on fear reflects a misunderstanding of God's love. The fear of punishment keeps us from fully experiencing the peace and joy that comes from being secure in God’s love.

4. **Perfect Love Casts Out Fear (1 John 4:18)**

The Bible teaches that love and fear are not compatible when it comes to our relationship with God. *“Perfect love casts out fear”* because fear is rooted in the anticipation of punishment or rejection.

In Christ, believers are no longer under condemnation (Romans 8:1). God’s perfect love, expressed through Jesus’ atoning sacrifice, frees us from the fear of divine wrath or punishment.

Those who are “made perfect in love” experience a deep confidence and security in their relationship with God. They are no longer motivated by fear but by love and trust.

5. **Loving God as a Response to His Love**

Our love for God is a response to His love for us. *“We love because He first loved us”* (1 John 4:19). When we understand the depth of God’s love, fear diminishes, and our devotion to Him becomes rooted in affection, not obligation.

Fear-driven obedience can create distance between us and God, while love-driven obedience brings us closer. Love makes us desire to please God not because we fear punishment but because we cherish the relationship.

The more we grasp God’s love, the more we are transformed, growing in holiness and becoming more like Christ. This process is the “perfecting” of love mentioned in 1 John 4:18.

6. **The Role of Healthy Fear: Reverence and Awe**

While fear of punishment should not dominate our relationship with God, reverential fear remains essential. This kind of fear is a deep respect and awe for who God is—His holiness, righteousness, and authority.

Reverence motivates us to honor God in our thoughts, actions, and words. It is not about dread but about recognizing God's greatness and responding with humility and obedience.

Conclusion

To love God is the goal of Christian life, and love for God must be rooted in an understanding of His love for us. The fear of punishment is incompatible with the love that God desires to perfect in His people. While reverence and awe for God are healthy and necessary, the fear that involves punishment reflects an incomplete understanding of His grace. As believers, we are called to move beyond fear of punishment and into the fullness of God’s love, which drives out all fear.
