If life is a journey, where is your destination? If life is a journey, where is your destination? Today, we officially start our pilgrimage, and it's beautiful that we experience and see these beautiful things. Sobrang naman talagang layo sa usual nating nakikita. Ano po? Sobrang layo, at kahit nga traffic light o kahit nga bus, pinipictureran natin sa sobrang layo ng itsura. It's beautiful to see these things. Minsan lang 'to. Kaya namnamin na natin. Total, nagpagod tayo, pinaghirapan 'to. Namnamin yung amoy, namnamin yung puno. Iba yung puno, 'di ba? Talagang iba.
And it's beautiful to experience these things, but hopefully, our experience of pilgrimage would not only end in the beauty. It should not end in the beauty of the places. Huwag lang mamangha, huwag lang magandahan. Okay, nakapagpa-picture, but hopefully it does not end there. But hopefully it would bring goodness to our life and make us holy. Sana, magdulot yung mga magagandang bagay na nakita natin ng mabuti sa atin at magdala ng kabanalan sa atin. If life is a journey, where is your destination? This is what happened to the disciples. Seventy-two disciples of Jesus in our gospel. We heard that they came back from the mission.
Going back a little to the story, Jesus sent the seventy-two disciples to mission by pairs, dala dalawa, partner partner. And today we heard they were all happy going back to Jesus, reporting everything that they had seen and experienced in their journey. 'Di ba gano'n? Pag uwi natin, sigurado ko ikukuwento natin lahat ng nakita natin. Yung bato, yung puno, yung tren, kahit ano, ikukuwento natin. Ire-report natin. Ganun tayo, 'e. And whenever we tell stories, whenever we share our experience, we're always happy. That's the experience of the seventy-two. But Jesus is glad that their missionary journey was successful. Yun ang mahalaga, may nakwento kasi successful ang nangyari.
Because, you know, prior to that, let's go back a little. Before Jesus sent them to mission, what happened was they were competing with each other. They were telling to Jesus who is the greatest among them. Siyempre sa seventy-two, gusto mo ikaw yung katabi. Gusto mo ikaw yung magaling. Gusto mo ikaw yung nauuna. 'Di ba gano'n naman, no? Sa klase, gusto mo ikaw yung una. Sa bus, gusto mo ikaw yung una, halos gusto mo ikaw na yung driver. Sa mismo gusto mo una. Minsan talaga mayroong mapanguna sa buhay. And that's what happened to the disciples. Before they were sent to the mission, they were competing with each other. Who's the greatest among us? But Jesus taught them that mission is not about competition. It is about having a companion. This is also same with our life journey. It is never a competition among others. Kaya hindi mahalaga kung kailan ka magkakapamilya. Hindi mahalaga kung sino ang unang magkakabahay, magkano ang iyong kinikita, ano ang iyong narating, saan ka nakapunta.
But what is important in life is the mission of your journey. Sayang ang nabuong pamilya kung wala ka namang misyong maging magulang. Sayang ang natayong bahay kung wala ka namang misyong bumuo ng masayang pamilya. Sayang ang pinagpaguran kung wala namang kabutihang pinagdadalhan. 'Di ba sayang yung trabaho, ka-trabaho, ang dami mong pera, pero wala kang natutulungan. Yung kapatid mo, hirap na hirap, wala ka manlang napapahiram. Sayang. Hindi masaya 'yun, kung ikaw lang yung mayaman sa pamilya. Hindi masaya 'yun. And that's not a mission. Ang sarap ng meron kang pinaghihirapan because it has a mission. It has a purpose.
My dear brothers and sisters, the answer to the question, If life is a journey, where is your destination? can be found in what we do in life. Madaling sabihin, ang destination ko ay graduation, kung ikaw ay estudyante, pero pagbubulakbol naman ang ginagawa mo. Will that lead you to destination? Walang maniniwalang ang destination mo ay pagkapamilya kung ngayon hindi mo inaaral ang gawain bahay. Hello. 'Di ba, paano ka bubuo ng pamilya, hindi ka marunong maglaba. Hindi ka marunong magluto. Father, order na lang. Sa mga oldies, hindi pwede 'yun, 'di ba? Hindi gano'n, 'e. 'Di ba kasama sa pag-aasawa, lutuan mo yung asawa mo. Hindi o-orderan mo, 'di ba? Kasama sa pag-aasawa, yung marunong kang maglaba, marunong kang maglinis. Pero iba na yan ngayon, 'di ba? Basta meron ka na lang pera, puwede nang magpamilya. Total meron namang Grab, meron namang palinis, lahat na puwede nang ipagawa, basta may pera. But it's more than having a money. Paano mo masasabing ang destinasyon mo ay mapalapit sa Diyos kung hindi ka naman nagiging makadiyos?
The seventy-two disciples of Jesus went on a missionary journey and went back to Jesus after, reporting what they have done. Ayun ang maganda. After your journey and you come face to face with Jesus, what will you report? Ay Lord, tinulungan ko kapatid ko. Ay Lord, naging mabuti akong asawa. Ay Lord, naging mabuti akong lawyer. What will you report to Jesus?
In our first reading, we heard the character Job. Kilala n'yo si Job? Si Job, 'di ba? Anong buhay ni Job? Pitong anak. Nag-usap kami kanina ni Daddy, ang hirap magka-pamilya ngayon kasi ayaw mag-anak. Kaya gagawin, yung aso ibibilang na lang sa anak. Ayaw mag-anak. Pero Job had seven children, and we know, hindi madali magpalaki ng anak. But Job used that as his mission. Pero hindi lang maging magulang. Because Job was successful, was a successful businessman. Yumaman, napagyaman. Pag may pera ka, madali maging magulang.
But it's more than that. Because the mission of Job was not only to raise his family, his children, but to be a child of God. Kaya nga nung nawala yung yaman, nawala, nagkasakit ang anak, malinaw kay Job. Malinaw sa kanya na hindi lang naman 'yon ang buhay. Ang buhay is to be faithful with God. Kaya whatever happened to him in his life journey, dahil malinaw sa kanya na ang Diyos ang kanyang mission, everything went in right place. My dear brothers and sisters, if life is a journey, where is your destination? Hopefully, at the end of our life journey, and when we would come face to face with Jesus, we would report something that would not only make Jesus happy, but would make us holy. Amen.
