As the Annual Meeting of Catechetical Directors and Coordinators (AMDC) 2026 comes to a close today, we give thanks for the days of meaningful conversations, inspiring stories, prayer, reflection, and shared learning.

But while this gathering ends, our journey continues. May we carry with us the learnings we have received, the reflections that have touched our hearts, and the stories we have shared as we return to our respective dioceses.

May what we have experienced here bear fruit in our communities and renew our commitment to the catechetical mission of the Church. May we continue to listen, walk together, and serve with one heart and one mission.

DUMNGÉG! May the synodal journey continue wherever we are sent.

𝘼𝙈𝘿𝘾 2026 | 𝘿𝘼𝙔 3

As we begin another day of our gathering, we pause with grateful hearts for the journey we have shared so far—the conversations that opened our minds, the stories that touched our hearts, and the moments that reminded us that we do not walk this mission alone.

Today, we look forward to another day of listening deeply, learning from one another, and allowing God to renew us in our shared mission. May we continue to recognize Christ in one another’s stories and discover where the Spirit is leading us as we journey together.

May this day be an invitation to listen not only with our ears, but also with our hearts, trusting that every encounter can become a moment of grace and every shared story can bring us closer to the mission entrusted to us.

DUMNGÉG! Let us listen. Let us journey together. Let us continue the mission.

During his homily at the Annual Meeting of Catechetical Directors and Coordinators (AMDC) 2026, Most Rev. Renato P. Mayugba, D.D., Bishop of Laoag, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all priests, religious, and catechists for their faithful ministry of bringing people closer to the Lord.

His words remind us that through catechesis and faithful service, we participate in the mission of making Jesus, the Good Shepherd, known and loved, bringing others closer to His love and mercy.

May we continue to DUMNGEG!

𝘿𝘼𝙔 2 | 𝘿𝙐𝙈𝙉𝙂𝙀𝙂! 𝙎𝙮𝙣𝙤𝙙𝙖𝙡 𝙅𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙣𝙚𝙮 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙊𝙣𝙚 𝙈𝙞𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣.

Here are some moments from our Holy Mass, presided over by Most Rev. Renato Mayugba, D.D., Bishop of the Diocese of Laoag, at the Shrine of Nuestra Señora de la Caridad and Parish of Saint Augustine of Hippo in Bantay, Ilocos Sur. May the Eucharist and our shared reflections continue to strengthen us in faith, deepen our communion, and renew our commitment to walk together in mission.

After an enriching day of meaningful conversations and inspiring stories, we look back on the key highlights from our speakers: the Homily and Keynote Address of Most Rev. David William V. Antonio, D.D., Archbishop of Nueva Segovia, and the Perspective Setting of Rev. Fr. Jason Laguerta, Executive Secretary of the CBCP-ECEC. Their reflections and insights helped set the tone for our gathering and encouraged us to continue listening, learning, and journeying together in the spirit of synodality. As we move forward, may the lessons and stories shared on Day 1 continue to inspire us in our mission to serve and accompany God’s people.

𝘿𝙐𝙈𝙉𝙂𝙀𝙂: 𝙇𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙃𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙩, 𝙒𝙖𝙡𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙎𝙥𝙞𝙧𝙞𝙩

During the Annual Meeting of Directors and Coordinators (AMDC), we paused from our plans and programs to truly listen - to one another, to the realities of our people, and most of all, to the gentle movement of the Holy Spirit.

In the spirit of Dumngeg, our conversations became more than an exchange of ideas. They became a sacred space where we listen with openness, humility, and a heart centered on Christ, allowing the Spirit to lead us together.

And so we asked: What kind of heart do catechists and evangelizers need to have in order to help build a Church that is synodal in mission and centered in Christ?

A listening heart. A discerning heart. A compassionate heart. A missionary heart - a heart that hears, accompanies, and walks with others toward Christ.

May our listening become communion, our discernment become mission, and our walking together become a witness of a Church truly centered in Christ.

𝙇𝙊𝙊𝙆: The Annual Meeting of Catechetical Directors and Coordinators officially commenced on August 18, 2026, in Vigan City, Ilocos Sur.

Gathered under the theme “DUMNGÉG! Synodal Journey for One Mission,” catechetical leaders from different communities come together in a spirit of communion, participation, and mission.

The gathering offers a meaningful opportunity to listen, learn from one another, share experiences, and strengthen our commitment to the catechetical mission of the Church.

As we journey together, may our conversations, stories, and shared experiences deepen our understanding of synodality and renew our passion to serve God’s people.
