𝗠𝗔𝗞𝗘 𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗟𝗜𝗙𝗘 𝗔 𝗠𝗔𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗣𝗜𝗘𝗖𝗘: 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀, 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗛𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀

From September 4–8, 2026, the Frassati Society Philippines and Association of the Friends of Saint Carlo Acutis Philippines will unite in celebrating the First Anniversary of the Canonization of Sts. Pier Giorgio Frassati and Carlo Acutis at Sto. Domingo Parish, National Shrine of Our Lady of the Rosary, La Naval de Manila, Quezon City.

The celebration carries the theme “MAKE YOUR LIFE A MASTERPIECE: Created for Greatness, Called to Holiness,” inviting everyone, especially young people, to rediscover the beauty and greatness of the Christian vocation.

The lives of St. Pier Giorgio Frassati and St. Carlo Acutis beautifully reveal what this vocation can look like. Though they lived in different generations and circumstances, both allowed God to work through the ordinary realities of their lives. Through friendship, study, service, prayer, charity, the Eucharist, and love for the Church, they transformed the ordinary into something extraordinary: a life offered completely to God and to others.

Their witness reminds us that holiness is not reserved for a select few, nor is it something distant or impossible. Holiness is the universal vocation of every Christian. Each of us has been created with a unique purpose, endowed with gifts, called to greatness, and invited to become a masterpiece in the hands of God.
This anniversary celebration therefore seeks not merely to remember two young saints, but to encounter their witness, rediscover our own vocation, and respond courageously to God's invitation to holiness.

Like Pier Giorgio and Carlo, we are called to look verso l'alto—to the heights—and to make of our lives something beautiful for the glory of God.

Exhibit Viewing — The exhibit will be open to the public and free for viewing during the opening hours of the Shrine.

First Anniversary of the Canonization of Sts. Pier Giorgio Frassati and Carlo Acutis
📍 Sto. Domingo Church, National Shrine of Our Lady of the Rosary, La Naval de Manila, Quezon City

3:30 PM — Registration
4:00 PM — Holy Rosary
4:45 PM — Eucharistic Adoration with Vespers
6:00 PM — Holy Mass

22 Agosto | Paggunita sa Pagka-Reyna ng Mahal na Birheng Maria

Itinatag ni Papa Pio XII ang kapistahang ito noong 1954. Ngunit ang pagiging Reyna ng Mahal na Birheng Maria ay may malalim na ugat sa Banal na Kasulatan. Sa Pagpapahayag ng Anghel, ipinahayag ni Gabriel na ang Anak ni Maria ay tatanggap ng trono ni David at maghahari magpakailanman. Sa Pagdalaw ni Maria kay Elisabet, tinawag siya ni Elisabet na “ina ng aking Panginoon.” Tulad ng lahat ng hiwaga sa buhay ni Maria, siya ay malapit na kaugnay ni Hesus: ang kanyang pagiging Reyna ay pakikibahagi sa paghahari ni Hesus. Maaari rin nating alalahanin na sa Lumang Tipan, ang ina ng hari ay may malaking impluwensiya sa palasyo.

Noong ikaapat na siglo, tinawag ni San Efrem si Maria bilang “Babae” at “Reyna.” Sa mga sumunod na panahon, patuloy na ginamit ng mga Ama at mga Pantas ng Simbahan ang titulong ito para kay Maria. Ang mga himno mula ika-11 hanggang ika-13 siglo ay tumatawag kay Maria bilang Reyna, gaya ng “Aba, Banal na Reyna,” “Aba, Reyna ng Langit,” at “Reyna ng Langit.” Ang Rosaryo ng mga Dominikano, ang Korona ng mga Pransiskano, gayundin ang maraming panalangin at pagtawag kay Maria sa kanyang mga Litanya, ay nagpapahayag at nagpaparangal sa kanyang pagiging Reyna.

Ang kapistahang ito ay isang likas na pagpapatuloy ng Pag-aakyat sa Langit kay Maria at ipinagdiriwang ngayon sa ikawalong araw matapos ang kapistahang iyon. Sa kanyang enciklikal noong 1954 na Ad Caeli Reginam (Sa Reyna ng Langit), ipinaliwanag ni Papa Pio XII na karapat-dapat tawagin si Maria bilang Reyna sapagkat siya ang Ina ng Diyos; sapagkat siya, bilang Bagong Eva, ay malapit na nakibahagi sa mapanubos na gawain ni Hesus; dahil sa kanyang natatanging kabanalan at kadakilaan; at dahil sa kanyang makapangyarihang pamamagitan para sa atin.

Ama naming nasa Langit, biniyayaan mo si Pier Giorgio Frassati ng kagalákang masumpungan si Kristo at maisabuhay ang kaniyang pananampalataya sa paglingap sa mga dukha at maysakit. Sa tulong niya, nawa'y tahakin din namin ang landas ng mga "Mapalad", tularan ang kaniyang pagiging bukas-palad, at maipalaganap ang Mabuting Balita sa aming lipunan. Hinihiling namin ito sa pamamagitan ni Hesukristo na aming Panginoon. Amen.

Father, You gave to the young Pier Giorgio Frassati the joy of meeting Christ and of living his faith in service of the poor and the sick. Through his intercession, may we, too, walk the path of the Beatitudes and follow the example of his generosity, spreading the spirit of the Gospel in society. We ask this through Christ our Lord. POPE FRANCIS ON SAINT PIER GIORGIO FRASSATI

Throughout his pontificate, Pope Francis frequently encouraged young people to rediscover the Beatitudes as the path to true happiness. In doing so, he often pointed to Saint Pier Giorgio Frassati as one of the most radiant modern examples of someone who lived the Beatitudes with courage, joy, and heroic charity.

During World Youth Day in Rio de Janeiro (25 July 2013), Pope Francis urged young people:

"Read the Beatitudes. It will do you good."

For Pope Francis, the Beatitudes are not simply beautiful words but a concrete way of life. Saint Pier Giorgio Frassati embodied this Gospel way by loving Christ in the Eucharist, serving the poor, defending the faith, and pursuing holiness in the midst of ordinary life.

Saint Pier Giorgio reminds us that the Beatitudes are not an impossible ideal as they are a lived reality. Holiness is possible. Joy is possible. The heights of sanctity are within reach.
