Ang Papal Crossed Keys ay kumakatawan sa mga susi na tumutukoy sa pangako ni Hesuskristo kay San Pedro, "Ibibigay ko sa iyo ang mga susi ng kaharian ng langit. Ang ipagbabawal sa langit, at ang ipahintulot mo sa lupa ay ipahihintulot din sa langit," (Mateo 16:19).

Ang presensya ng mga susi ay sumisimbolo sa patuloy na ugnayan ng basilika sa Santo Papa sa Roma. Makikita rin ang "crossed keys" sa sagisag ng basilika at sa mga muwebles malapit sa altar.

Ang tintinnabulum na nangangahulugang "maliit na kampana" ay isa ring simbolo na ang simbahan at isang basilika.

Ito ang gintong kampana na nakakabit sa isang pole na sumisimbolo sa ugnayan ng simbahan at Santo Papa. Kadalasan itong ginagamit upang magbigay ng hudyat na paparating na ang Santo Papa.

By the grace of God and for the glory of His Holy Name, the Archdiocesan Shrine and Parish of Santo Niño shall be solemnly declared a Minor Basilica on May 11, 2026, at 2:00 o’clock in the afternoon.

The Solemn Eucharistic celebration will be presided over by His Excellency Charles John Brown, DD, Apostolic Nuncio to the Philippines, together with His Eminence Jose F. Cardinal Advincula, DD, Archbishop of Manila, and the concelebrating priests and prelates, as we rejoice together in faith and thanksgiving.

Let us come together as one people of God to celebrate this historic moment of grace, deepened devotion, and renewed mission under the loving guidance and protection of the Santo Niño.

Ang umbraculum o ombrellino ay isa sa mga simbolo na ang simbahan ay maituturing na isang Minor Basilica. Ito ay payong na binubuo ng kulay p**a at dilaw na sumisimbolo sa awtoridad ng Santo Papa sa simbahan. Kadalasan, ito ay nakapuwesto sa kanang bahagi ng altar at isinasama tuwing may mahahalagang gawain ang simbahan tulad ng prusisyon at iba pa.

Sa panahong nasa estado ng Sede Vacante ang simbahan, pinapalitan ng umbraculum ang papal tiara o korona ng Santo Papa bilang simbolo ng Holy See at ito ay ang nagiging pansamantalang simbolo ng "interregnum" o ang panahon ng paghihintay sa susunod na Santo Papa.

As we prepare for the Solemn Declaration as a Minor Basilica, we are invited to gather as one community in prayerful reflection on the harmonious relationship between pop**ar devotions and the sacred liturgy. This grace calls us to a deeper understanding that our cherished devotions, when properly ordered, lead us to the liturgy, the source and summit of our Christian life drawing us into a more profound encounter with Christ and the mystery of our salvation.

We warmly invite everyone to a Parish Formation on Pop**ar Devotions and Sacred Liturgy: An Encounter of Grace on May 2, 2026 (Saturday) at 7:00 PM.

Our speaker will be Rev. Fr. Rico John Bilangel, C.SS.R., Rector of the National Shrine of Our Lady of Perpetual Help – Baclaran Church and Vice President for NCR & Rizal of the Association of Catholic Shrines and Pilgrimages of the Philippines (ACSP).
