Lorenzo Ruiz Council No. 7344 of the Binondo Chinese Parish of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary is the first and only existing Chinese K of C in the world. The council was established in 1979 to primarily to serve the Chinese catholic community in Binondo, which has a rich history dating back to the 16th century. As a Knights of Columbus council, we are part of the world's largest Catholic fratern
al organization, with over 2 million members in more than 18,000 councils worldwide. Mary's parish in New Haven, CT, the Knights uphold four key principles as pillars of the order: Charity, Unity, Fraternity and Patriotism. Over the years, the Knights of Columbus - St. Lorenzo Ruiz (Binondo Chinese Parish) No. 7344 has organized various programs and activities to support the needs of its members and the community. These include monthly medical program catering to the needy with free consultation and free medicines; Youth programs, such as the Columbian Squires, which is a leadership development program for young men, and the Light Up for Christ in Christmas campaign, which promotes the true meaning of Christmas through various activities and events. The council also provides financial and material assistance to charitable organizations such as Missionaries of Charities, Little Sisters of the Poor - orphanage and home for the aged. As a Catholic organization, the council promotes spiritual growth and provides opportunities for members to deepen their faith through prayer, Bible study, and other spiritual activities.
