When Jesus Dined with Judas
Take a moment to consider this powerful scene. Jesus enters a room with His disciples, fully aware that He will soon be betrayed. He knows that Judas, one of His closest companions, will be the one to turn against Him. He knows that He has been sold out for a mere handful of silver, stabbed in the back by someone He has poured His life into. Despite all of this, Jesus still chooses to break bread with Judas. He feeds him, prays for him, and even washes his feet. It's difficult to comprehend this level of love and forgiveness. How could Jesus offer such kindness to someone who had deceived Him so deeply? But that's the beauty of Jesus' message. He chose to love Judas, even in the face of betrayal. And in doing so, He teaches us all a valuable lesson. We are all sinners, and we have all done things that we may feel are unforgivable. But unlike us mere mortals, God will always offer His forgiveness. It's a humbling realization to know that even Judas, the ultimate betrayer, was offered a seat at the table. As we strive to be more Christ-like, may we all learn to forgive the Judas in our own lives. Let us embrace the power of love and forgiveness, just as Jesus did so many years ago.
