We are not here for ourselves. We are here for God, and for His prophetic call that echoes through the ages — to defend the poor, to speak for the voiceless, and to lift up the oppressed.

We are not here for vanity. We are not here to chase the passing applause of the world, nor to serve our own comfort and ambition. We are here to serve a cause greater than ourselves.

We are here to imitate His Son — to walk in the footsteps of Christ, who came not to be served but to serve, who laid down His life for the least, the lost, and the forsaken.

We will go where He sends us, even into the shadows where injustice hides. We will stand where He stood, among the poor and the outcast. We will speak His truth when the world demands our silence.

For we belong not to ourselves, but to Him who calls us. And until the last judgement, we will answer that call — for God, for the Gospel, and for the dignity of every soul....

𝗟𝗔𝗨𝗗𝗘𝗧𝗨𝗥 𝗜𝗘𝗦𝗨𝗦 𝗖𝗛𝗥𝗜𝗦𝗧𝗨𝗦!

We are currently running an apostolate for our dear friend Bonoy, who is in urgent need of medical assistance for his gallbladder treatment.

𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗶𝘀 𝗕𝗼𝗻𝗼𝘆?

We first met Bonoy at the height of the pandemic, a time when fear and uncertainty paralyzed many. But instead of retreating, Bonoy rose. He gathered the poor and the working class, uniting them to stand against state oppression and resist the exploitative schemes of the ruling elite. Since then, he has continued this mission, often at great personal cost, all for the sake of justice and mercy.

Bonoy is not just a friend; he is a brother to us. He has dedicated his life to serving the poor, tirelessly organizing grassroots efforts to address the social unrest and injustice that continue to plague our society. His militant stance against oppression is not fueled by anger, but by love, a love that imitates Christ and embodies the social teachings of our Holy Mother Church.

𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗣𝗛𝗘𝗧𝗜𝗖 𝗖𝗔𝗟𝗟

As the Church waits in prayerful anticipation for the election of a new pope, we also find ourselves reflecting deeply on the life and legacy of Pope Francis, our shepherd who never tired of reminding us that the Gospel is lived most truthfully when it is lived among the poor.

In Evangelii Gaudium, he writes: “Each individual Christian and every community is called to be an instrument of God for the liberation and promotion of the poor, and for enabling them to be fully a part of society.” These words are more than just a call, they are a mission, a mirror held up to our Church and our hearts.

Pope Francis lived this mission. From choosing the name "Francis" after the saint of poverty and peace, to choosing simplicity over grandeur, he modeled a Church that listens to the cry of the poor, walks with them, and uplifts them with dignity. His papacy was a living homily, inviting us to be a Church of the peripheries, not a fortress of comfort.

This is what it means to receive a prophetic call, a summons from God to speak and live the truth, especially when the world refuses to listen. It is a call to challenge injustice, to comfort the afflicted, and to reveal God's love through action. A prophetic call isn’t reserved for saints and popes, it belongs to each of us, urging us to be bold in faith and compassionate in service.

Now, as we look to the future, may we never forget the gentle strength with which Pope Francis reminded us that true faith is inseparable from justice, and that the face of Christ is most clearly seen in the broken, the forgotten, and the poor.

Let us carry this torch forward, not in memory alone, but in action.

This Lenten season, as we reflect on the life, suffering, and sacrifice of Jesus Christ, we are reminded of 𝗛𝗶𝘀 𝗲𝘅𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿. At the same time, the upcoming 𝗺𝗶𝗱𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗺 𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 in the Philippines call us to make serious choices about who we allow to lead our communities and nation.

𝗝𝗲𝘀𝘂𝘀 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿, 𝗽𝗼𝗽𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳-𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁. 𝗜𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗵𝘂𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲, 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗮𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲. He washed the feet of His disciples, healed the sick, fed the hungry, and forgave sinners. He led by example, putting others before Himself, even unto death.

As faithful Catholics, 𝘄𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝘀𝗼 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝘄𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘆. When choosing our leaders, we must look beyond promises and charisma. We should ask: Does this person lead with humility? Do they serve the poor and marginalized? Are they honest and just?

True servant leadership, like that of Jesus, puts the good of others first. This Lent, may our prayers and reflections guide us to vote wisely, choosing leaders who will not only govern but serve with integrity, mercy, and love.
