Sr Alicia fcJ and Fr Manny Domingo are getting everything ready for Camino Companions to start welcoming pilgrims on Monday. They are pictured here in the Chapel of the Oficina de Acogida al Peregrino (Pilgrim Office) located at Rúa das Carretas, 33. Pilgrims can attend Mass in English in the chapel at 10:30 every day of the week except Wednesday. After Mass, pilgrims are invited to join the Camino Companions team upstairs in room 6 for hospitality and an opportunity to share their camino experience and listen to others. We look forward to seeing you in Santiago or having you follow our work on Facebook.

There’s something timeless about a long-distance walk. These routes, spread across continents and cultures, capture the essence of slow travel and the perspective it brings. Each one offers a different way to move through a landscape.

Known as the Wine and Fish Route, the 166km GR38 trail begins in the town of Oyón and winds through the vineyards of the Rioja region - known for its wine - before heading over the Cantabrian Mountains and towards the coast, ending at the Basque port of Bermeo. It's one of the most scenic multi-day hikes in the Basque Country, with plenty of family-run wineries you can visit on the way! 🍷🐟
