As believers, we must be discerning about what we allow into our ears, eyes, and homes. Not everything on TV or social media is harmless entertainment. Some content carries a demonic agenda. If you hear these things I would encourage you to turn them off.
Content to Watch Out For:
Content That Normalizes the Occult & Witchcraft
While you may not be doing witchcraft, paying for it, supporting it, and entertaining yourself with it is still opening a spiritual door.
Music & Shows That Glorify Sin & Rebellion
Secondly, it’s common in our day and age for culture to celebrate things that God condemns. However, it’s important to note that whatever entertains you will eventually influence you.
New Age Teachings
The New Age movement teaches that you are your god, that you can manifest your reality, and that all paths lead to a higher consciousness. However, that directly contradicts what the Bible teaches to be true (Exodus 20:3).
Horror Movies & Demonic Films
The Bible teaches us that “God has not given us a spirit of fear” (2 Timothy 1:7). The only fear we should pursue is the fear of the Lord. We are not meant to live in fear or be entertained by it.
False Teachings That Twist the Gospel
Remember that not everything labeled “Christian” is biblically sound. Some teachings distort the gospel for personal gain and manipulation.
Sexual Perversion & Immorality
What God calls sin the world celebrates as freedom, especially within the entertainment industry. This is a topic the Bible encourages us strongly to flee from (1 Corinthians 6:18).
Unclean Language & Cursing God’s Name
Constant exposure to profanity, blasphemy, and vulgar content will affect your spirit. Even if you’re not the one cursing, entertaining yourself with it still pollutes your soul.
Make sure to protect your mind and your home from things that don’t glorify God.
