LOVE GOD, LOVE FAMILY
One of the lessons that I’m most grateful that I learned from my church and its leaders is the value of FAMILY. Now I know that it’s easy to say that, so I’m thankful for the many teachings over the years that fleshed it out.
1.) IT'S NOT RIGHT TO SACRIFICE ONE'S FAMILY ON THE ALTAR OF MINISTRY.
No amount of ministry success will make up for the neglect and abandonment of my God-given role to lead my family.
2.) NEXT TO GOD, MY MARRIAGE IS MY TOP PRIORITY. - Rhodz Ogalesco
I’m grateful for the sense of mission and calling that was taught about marriage. My wife is not a ball and chain, “si kumander,” or the killjoy of my life. She is my partner, someone I am one flesh with. God will hold me accountable for how I’ve loved and led her.
3.) MY CHILDREN ARE MY FIRST DISCIPLES.
Princess Kristine Cess Ogalesco and Prince David. There’s a serious misunderstanding of my priorities if I will expend energies to reach, serve, and teach others and have no time to relate, love, discipline, and teach my children. Other people can fulfill my professional roles. But only I am my Children's father.
4.) THE APPLAUSE OF PEOPLE WHO ONLY KNOW YOU FROM A FAR.
Those who only know you from your position, from the stage, or from social media – is CHEAP. What matters more is the LOVE AND RESPECT of those who are closest to you; YOUR FAMILY, YOUR LEADERS, YOUR FRIENDS.
It’s better to be unknown or even dismissed in the eyes of many, if you are treasured by those who know you best.
5.) ON YOUR DEADBEAD....
You will not be surrounded by your bosses, colleagues, or clients. You’re lucky if they visit. You’ll be surrounded by your family – your spouse and your kids and for those who serves at church, your church family will be there too.
And the saddest day of your life will be when you look in their eyes and realize that you didn’t value them as much as you should have. Don’t make that mistake.
Value them today with your energy, money, and especially, your TIME.
