Donโ€™t know which path to take? God does.

Sometimes life feels directionless. We feel lost or disconnected. But there is one powerful truth that changes everything: โ€œBe believing, and all things shall work together for your good.โ€ โ€”Doctrine and Covenants 90:24

When you choose God, you choose the best pathโ€”the one that leads you back to Him

This morning, on my way to school, I carried my heavy laptop and hopped on a jeepney. The weather was gloomyโ€”the kind of day that makes you slow down and think.

The driver caught my attention. He seemed to be in his 60s, and the way he handled the jeepney showed years of experience. He drove with extra care, slowing down often because the road was slippery from the rain. There was something admirable about his patience and responsibility.

When we reached the school, he stopped near the pedestrian lane and started chatting with a passenger. While waiting for more passengers, something happened that made me pause and reflect.

A college student crossed the pedestrian lane and suddenly shouted:
โ€œ๐‘ท๐‘ฌ๐‘ซ๐‘ฌ๐‘บ๐‘ป๐‘น๐‘ฐ๐‘จ๐‘ต ๐‘ป๐‘ถ! ๐‘ฉ๐‘ถ๐‘ฉ๐‘ถ ๐‘ฒ๐‘จ ๐‘ฉ๐‘จ?!โ€
Then she ran toward her friends, laughing.

I looked around and saw that the jeepney had stopped partly on the pedestrian laneโ€”not completely blocking it, but still not ideal. Technically, the student was right to point it out. But I couldnโ€™t help but ask myself:

Was that the best way to say it?

It made me think about how character truly shows in the smallest thingsโ€”our words, our tone, and how we react in moments like this. Itโ€™s easy to be right, but being right doesnโ€™t give us the license to be rude.

As future professionals, or even as current students, we should remember this:
Respect is not a diploma. Itโ€™s not a title. Itโ€™s a choice we make every single day in the way we treat people.

So, ask yourself:

Itโ€™s never too late to start building the right character. Education is important, but so is attitude. Your degree may open doors, but your character determines if those doors stay open.

Letโ€™s strive to be professionals who are not only smart but also respectfulโ€”people who correct mistakes without degrading others.

SETTLE WITH SOMEONE CONSISTENT โœจ

Choose a man who shows up when it matters, who makes you feel wanted and leads with gentle care. Someone who invests in your peace of mind and never stops proving, in big ways and small, that you are his priority.

Consistency is more than just love โ€” itโ€™s respect, itโ€™s stability, itโ€™s effort, every single day. Thatโ€™s what your heart deserves.

Donโ€™t settle for less, when you are so much more. โค๏ธ๐ŸŒน

This article was all about motherhood, but I can also relate to her experience as a child of God or as a human. There are times when I don't tell my problems to others because I know they have much worse experiences than mine. I feel that when I vent to my family or my friends about my situation, I think they will invalidate my feelings because they know that I'm strong and independent enough that I can resolve my problems on my own. But based on this article, it's not selfish if we let ourselves be open about what we really feel. Therefore, expressing our feelings will contribute to our mental health. Through that, we can still help others by ministering and serving the Lord. Indeed, we cannot help others if we don't know how to help ourselves. Remember that we are not alone.

The principle of lifting where we stand continues to resonate in my mind to this day. As strong as some of us are, we cannot and we should not try to lift a piano by ourselves.

Many years ago, I spoke at general conference about the principle of how each of us should โ€œlift where [we] standโ€ (โ€œLift Where You Stand,โ€ general conference, Oct. 2008). I told of a small group of us in Darmstadt, Germany, being perplexed about how to move a heavy piano until we received the counsel for us to โ€œstand close together and lift where you stand,โ€ and we then moved the piano freely.

I was reminded of this important principle (and this heavy piano) recently as I found myself next to the very piano we had moved years ago.

The principle of lifting where we stand continues to resonate in my mind to this day. As strong as some of us are, we cannot and we should not try to lift a piano by ourselves.

Likewise, none of us can or should move the Lordโ€™s work alone. But if we all stand close together in the place the Lord has appointed and lift where we stand, nothing can keep this divine work from moving upward and forward.

For 60 years, I have had a front-row seat to experience how my dear wife, Harriet, has confidently lived her life as a wife, mother, and grandmother. Even more importantly, she has courageously been a valiant disciple of Jesus Christ. I love herโ€”and I know our Father in Heaven loves her.

My dear sisters, you hold a special place in our Fatherโ€™s plan for the eternal happiness and well-being of His children. Whatever your place is in the sequence of life, you have an important role in the plan of salvation. And God has given you special spiritual gifts, promises, and blessings as daughters of the Creator of the universe.

Never underestimate the power of your example and influence for good as you serve in your families, communities, and Church callings. Let me assure you that the Lord knows you. He loves you. He will bless you for your dedication to Him and His children.
