Heavenly Father,
We come before You, acknowledging Your sovereignty and goodness. We understand that illness, poverty, and discord are not of Your making, but the work of the enemy. We stand firm in our faith, resisting these afflictions, knowing that they are not Your will for us. We submit ourselves to You, Lord, and resist the devil, confident that he will flee from us. We pledge to never surrender, to fight the good fight of faith until Your victory is manifested in our lives. We declare that we will not allow any of the devil's works in our lives. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Man proposes, heaven disposes." Most people are quick to offer advice and make big plans. The wise man reminds us that gaining wisdom takes a long time and a lot of listening. If you're like me, it would be best to give your plans a little more time to grow in the light of the Lord before you start them. James, who wrote the part of the Bible about wisdom, tells us that God will give us wisdom if we seek it and don't doubt. But while we pray for wisdom, let's also pray for the patience to listen to the Lord's truth in the Bible, so that when wisdom comes, we can recognize it!

Prayer:
Almighty God, please show me your ways and help me figure out what you want for my life. I have a lot of ideas and plans, but I know that if they don't come from you, they won't work. Lead me to your wisdom, and I will not only try to learn it but also try to live it by using the power your Holy Spirit gives me. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.

Most people who can read this Internet message don't understand what this verse is about. But among people who study persecution closely, Christians may be going through the most trouble ever in the history of Christianity. For those of us who live in comfortable places where belief is accepted and Christians are just called "uncool" or "out of touch," we should be thankful that our lives are different enough from the culture around us to be noticed, even if it's not in a good way. But we also need to pray for other Christians around the world who are suffering greatly for their faith.

Prayer:
Almighty Father, our Great Deliverer, many people who call on Your name because they believe in Jesus face trouble and persecution every day. I hope they don't lose hope and stop believing in You. I'm praying that You will save us from this time of trouble. I pray that their pain will be a powerful witness, so that others will come to see how important Jesus is and why we follow Him. In Jesus' precious name I pray. Amen.

The Holy Spirit is God's constant gift, His promise, and His seal. The Spirit is our assurance that what He started with Jesus' death on the cross, and what we joined in through faith and baptism, He will finish when Jesus comes back. But the world doesn't understand this great promise, just as it doesn't understand much of what the Bible says. Without the gift of the Holy Spirit, their eyes can only see what they can touch with their fingers. They can't fully perceive what is true in God's heart and written in His Word.

Prayer:
Father, I'm grateful that you sent Jesus. Jesus, I am grateful that you sent the Spirit. Spirit, I'm glad you're always there for me. As the Spirit fills me, O Lord, fill me even more and more, so that my will and life more perfectly reflect your desires and character. Use me to bless other people the way your presence blesses me right now. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.

Jesus is my friend, and He has shown me how powerful it is to share a spiritual blessing with other people. The short blessing in today's verse is the best one I can think of. Grace, love, and friendship are all based on the fact that our God is eternal, selfless, and kind. We share these gifts with the children of God all over the world.

Prayer:
Father, I'm thinking of a few dear friends who need Your blessing to make their lives better. Please bless them in a big and kind way. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.

In Christian communication, the goal is not just to be clear. It's not enough to just be understood. It's not enough to just be honest. The goal is to be helpful, supportive, and encouraging based on what the other person needs.

Prayer:
Give me a pure heart, Oh Holy Shepherd, so that my words will be pure. Give me a kind heart so that I can say kind things. Give me a heart full of joy and hope so I can share these things with the people you put in my path and with whom I talk. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
