With hearts united in faith and devotion, the Maasin Youth Ministry, together with the Maasin BEC, joyfully organized the Procession for the Feast of San Roque, with the generous help and support of the Maasin SK Council. More than a procession, it was a beautiful expression of a community walking together in prayerโ€”bringing our hopes, thanksgiving, and intentions closer to God through the intercession of San Roque.

As we followed the image of San Roque and reflected on his life of service, compassion, and love for those in need, may we be inspired to live the same spirit in our own community. May the Blessed Virgin Mary, our loving Mother and model of humble service, teach us to say โ€œyesโ€ to God with faithful hearts. May every step we take remind us that our faith is not meant to be lived alone, but togetherโ€”with love, service, and a heart always willing to serve others.

Today, we joyfully celebrate the Feast of San Roque, a faithful servant of God and a reminder of what it means to trust in the Lord with a steadfast heart. In todayโ€™s Gospel, we encounter a man who never stopped believing and humbly cried out to Jesus in faith. His perseverance reminds us that even when our prayers seem unanswered, God is always listening. Like San Roque, may we remain faithful, compassionate, and willing to place our lives in Godโ€™s loving hands.

May this celebration be more than a joyful traditionโ€”it may become a renewal of our faith and our love for one another. Let us celebrate with grateful hearts, joyful spirits, and a renewed desire to follow Christ, trusting that His mercy reaches every person and that His love never fails. San Roque, pray for us, that we may grow stronger in faith and closer to God.

In celebration of the Feast of San Roque and the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we gather in the gentle silence of Taizรฉ Prayer, where hearts find rest, souls are renewed, and God speaks in the quiet.

Like San Roque, who devoted his life to serving the sick, the poor, and those in need, may we learn that true faith is expressed through compassion, humility, and selfless love. And like the Blessed Virgin Mary, whose faithful โ€œyesโ€ changed the course of salvation, may we have the courage to trust God even when we do not fully understand His plans.

As young people, we often carry worries, doubts, and burdens that the world cannot ease. Yet in prayer and silence, we are reminded of Christโ€™s invitation:
โ€œCome to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.โ€ โ€” Matthew 11:28

May this sacred moment of prayer inspire us to become people who listen before speaking, pray before acting, and love before judging. May San Roque teach us to serve with compassionate hearts, and may Mary lead us always closer to her Son, Jesus Christ.

In the silence, may we listen.
In prayer, may we trust.
In love, may we serve.

With hearts united in faith and service, the Maasin Youth Ministry, together with the Maasin SK Council and Maasin BEC, joyfully organized the Katipunan Seminarโ€”a meaningful gathering that seeks to form and inspire the youth to grow deeper in their relationship with Christ and in their love for the community.

Inspired by the life of San Roque, we are reminded that true discipleship means going beyond ourselves and reaching out to those who are hurting, forgotten, and in need. His life of compassion and selfless service teaches us that even the simplest act of kindness can become a beautiful expression of God's love.

We also look to the Blessed Virgin Mary, whose humble โ€œyesโ€ to God became a life of faith, obedience, courage, and unconditional love. Her example reminds us that answering God's call does not always require extraordinary thingsโ€”it begins with a willing heart that says, โ€œYes, Lord, I am here.โ€

As young people, we all have our own struggles, doubts, dreams, and questions about where life is leading us. Through this seminar, may we realize that our journey of faith does not have to be perfect. What matters is that we continue to walk with Christ, serve with what we have, and love the people God has placed in our lives.

May San Roque inspire us to serve with compassion, and may Mary lead us closer to Jesus. May the youth of Maasin become a generation that chooses faith over fear, service over self, and love over indifference.

When the world grows loud, let your soul become still, and let your heart listen to God.

You are warmly invited to enter into a sacred moment of prayer, silence, and communion through the Taizรฉ Prayer. In the simplicity of gentle chants, peaceful silence, and heartfelt reflection, we are invited to set aside the noise, worries, and busyness of everyday life and rest in the presence of the Lord. As we reflect on the life of San Roque, who devoted himself to God through compassion, service, and care for those who were sick and suffering, may we also learn to bring our burdens to Christ and find in Him the strength to serve others. Like San Roque, may we discover that true faith calls us not only to seek comfort for ourselves, but also to become instruments of Godโ€™s healing, love, and hope.

Let us gather as one community, with humble hearts and open souls, and lift our prayers in faith, hope, and love. May the gentle rhythm of prayer lead us deeper into Godโ€™s presence, reminding us that even in the silence, He is speaking; even in stillness, He is working; and even in our quietest moments, He is near. KATIPUNAN FORMATION PROGRAM | FEAST OF SR. SAN ROQUE

In celebration of the Feast of Sr. San Roque, the Maasin Youth Ministry, together with the Maasin SK Council and Maasin BEC, will be conducting the Katipunan Formation Programโ€”a meaningful gathering that seeks to introduce our young people to the life, works, and love of Sr. San Roque for the community.

Through this formation, we hope to inspire the youth of Barangay Maasin to deepen their love for Jesus Christ by learning from the example of Sr. San Roqueโ€”a life rooted in faith, compassion, service, and love for others.

May this gathering remind us that our faith is not only something we believe, but something we live through service, understanding, and genuine love for our community. May the young people continue to discover that, like Sr. San Roque, they too can become instruments of God's love and hope.
May Sr. San Roque inspire us to serve with humble hearts, love without condition, and walk faithfully with Christ.

As a young man, he chose a life of piety and service over a life of luxury. After the death of his parents, he gave away his wealth and became a pilgrim. Senior San Roque himself contracted the plague while traveling through northern Italy, but he managed to survive. As part of his story, thereโ€™s a famous depiction of him receiving help from a dog, which brought him bread while he was isolated in the forest, recovering from the disease. Along the way, he began to care for the sick and the poor. He would heal many who were afflicted with the plague, either by his touch or by the intercession of God.

Senior San Roque's example serves as a potent reminder to live a life of selflessness and love. By practicing humility, we not only encourage others but also make room for closer relationships and a more gratifying sense of purpose. Compassionate service, particularly to the sick and marginalized, can make a huge difference. One lovely approach to provide others is through prayer and the spread of hope, in whatever form.

Let us come together in faith on his feast dayโ€”August 16. Remembering his example of selflessness and care for the sick. And live like Senior San Roque, whose life was marked by deep compassion, and itโ€™s inspiring to reflect on how we can embody those same values in our communities. Also, dedicate this day to acts of service, prayers for healing, or simple gestures of kindness to others. It could also be a good time to remember those who are suffering and to bring hope and strength to them.
