DAY 7 SIMBANG GABI | Barangay Tebag ✨🕯️
Last night, the faithful of Barangay Tebag gathered in prayer and hope as we concluded Day 7 of Simbang Gabi, presided over by Rev. Fr. Raymundo de Guzman. Beneath the quiet night sky, our hearts were once again drawn closer to God, reminded that Advent is not just a season we wait through—but a season we live out, especially in the midst of the realities we face today.
The Fourth Sunday of Advent (Cycle A) invites us into the story of St. Joseph—a man of silence, obedience, and courageous faith. In the Gospel, Joseph is faced with confusion, fear, and uncertainty. What he thought his life would be suddenly changed. Yet, instead of turning away, he chose to trust God’s plan, even when it was difficult and unclear. His “yes” was quiet but powerful, rooted in faith rather than convenience.
This message deeply resonates with our current situation in the Philippines. Many of our fellow Filipinos continue to face struggles—rising prices of basic goods, unstable livelihoods, natural disasters, broken systems, and families burdened by uncertainty about tomorrow. Like Joseph, we often ask: “Paano na?” Yet Advent reminds us that God is present even in the mess, even in situations that seem hopeless. Emmanuel—God-with-us—is not a distant promise, but a living reality among us.
Just as Joseph protected Mary and Jesus, we are also called today to protect life, dignity, and hope, especially among the poor, the tired, the unheard, and the forgotten. Faith is not only about prayer inside the church, but about choosing love, honesty, and compassion in our daily decisions—at home, at work, in our communities, and even in how we respond to the challenges of our nation.
Through Fr. Raymund’s guidance, we were reminded that true faith is choosing to trust God even when the future is uncertain. It is believing that God is at work even when we do not fully understand His ways. As we draw closer to Christmas, may we become like St. Joseph—people who listen, obey, and act with faith and humility.
May this Day 7 of Simbang Gabi renew in us the courage to hope, the strength to endure, and the love to serve. As one people and one nation, may we continue to walk together in faith, trusting that God is truly with us—especially in these times.
