March 31, 2026 – A journey of reflection and new beginnings. 💙

On the final day of the National Youth Exposure-Immersion Program, the young Vincentians gathered at Sacred Heart College of Lucena to celebrate the Holy Mass and take part in the integration session. Here, they reflected deeply on the experiences they carried from the community—stories of resilience, faith, and solidarity that shaped their hearts and perspectives.

Goodbyes were spoken, but they were not endings. Instead, they marked the beginning of a new chapter for these young Vincentians—one rooted in service, compassion, and the mission to bring Christ’s love to those most in need.

💙 Be the Light. Be the Hope. Be SSVP.

𝐖𝐄 𝐀𝐑𝐄 𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐌𝐄𝐃 𝐀𝐂𝐂𝐎𝐑𝐃𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐓𝐎 𝐇𝐈𝐒 𝐖𝐈𝐋𝐋

Maraming salamat Brgy. Wakas, Tayabas City, Quezon Province for helping me grow through the families and people we encountered.

In those three days of our stay in our foster families, I have a lot of realization in life. 𝗢𝗻 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗱𝗮𝘆, I am happy because I have a caring Nanay. We were able to make her smile already and that's the biggest achievement we did that day — to make Nanay happy. Nanay’s smile was precious to me.

It dawned on me, 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙙𝙤𝙣'𝙩 𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙤 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙖 𝙗𝙞𝙜 𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙨𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙗𝙚 𝙝𝙖𝙥𝙥𝙮, 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙙𝙤𝙣'𝙩 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙗𝙚 𝙧𝙞𝙘𝙝 𝙩𝙤 𝙝𝙚𝙡𝙥 𝙥𝙚𝙤𝙥𝙡𝙚 𝙬𝙝𝙤 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙞𝙣 𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙙.

𝘼𝙡𝙡 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙙𝙤 𝙞𝙨 𝙩𝙤 𝙗𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚.

𝙔𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙞𝙨 𝙚𝙣𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝 𝙩𝙤 𝙢𝙖𝙠𝙚 𝙨𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙛𝙚𝙚𝙡 𝙗𝙚𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙧

There in our first day, 𝙄 𝙖𝙡𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙮 𝙢𝙚𝙩 𝙅𝙚𝙨𝙪𝙨 𝘾𝙝𝙧𝙞𝙨𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝 𝙉𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙮.

𝗦𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀, many things happened. It's not exhausting, in fact, my heart is full. Many things happened, but there is one moment I will never forget. After eating our miryenda, the three of us talked about life and I mentioned that I want to be a sister someday. After that, Nanay showed me a calendar full of the sister's faces and gave it to me. She told me to write her name on the calendar, but I told her "𝗞𝗮𝘆𝗼 𝗽𝗼 𝗻𝗮𝘆 𝗺𝗮𝗴𝘀𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁" she shook her head as an answer, and there, I realized what she meant and that hit me. I remembered what our SSVP National Council President told us during the orientation and I can't help but to feel emotional.

We told nanay that we'll teach her to write her name, she keeps on saying "𝗜𝗸𝗮𝘄 𝗻𝗮" but I told her we'll guide her. She grabbed a big calendar where we wrote our names the other day and guided her to write. Honestly, while we were guiding nanay, tears are building up. 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙉𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙮 𝙩𝙤 𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙣 𝙞𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙤𝙣 𝙬𝙝𝙮 𝙄 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙪𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙜𝙧𝙤𝙬.

She keeps on saying that her writing is bad, but it is not, because for me, 𝙞𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙜 𝙨𝙪𝙡𝙖𝙩 𝙣𝙞 𝙉𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙮 𝙖𝙣𝙜 𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙠𝙖𝙢𝙖𝙜𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙖𝙣𝙜 𝙨𝙪𝙡𝙖𝙩 𝙣𝙖 𝙣𝙖𝙠𝙞𝙩𝙖 𝙠𝙤 𝙨𝙖 𝙗𝙪𝙤𝙣𝙜 𝙗𝙪𝙝𝙖𝙮 𝙠𝙤.

After she wrote it, she was happy to show it to us. I told her to write her name on the calendar that she gave to me, so that I can remember her whenever I'm looking at the calendar. My heart aches when she read our names on the calendar. We had a little celebration after writing her name — a simple “𝙔𝙀𝙔." A short and simple word, but I know that someone will be happy by just hearing that word, just like Nanay.

I realized that 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 if you really want to learn. 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀𝗻'𝘁 𝗱𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗲 the things you are capable of doing. 𝗡𝗼 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 how old you are, 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗮𝗻 do everything that makes you happy.... genuinely.

𝗢𝗻 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗿𝗱 𝗱𝗮𝘆, the only word that got stuck on my mind is the word “𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲.“ I learned from nanay that you should be grateful on the simple things because it is one of the biggest blessing that God can give.

𝗦𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆 + 𝗦𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘀𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 = 𝗛𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁.

Nanay showed me all of that.

Nanay have a pure soul. She might be quiet and not the kind of person who loves to show her feelings and emotions, but I know that deep inside her, she is a loving mother, grandmother, and a best friend.

This exposure-immersion program changed my perspective in life. It changed me in a good way — to keep going no matter where life takes you. But there's only one thing I know for sure, life will direct you to God the Father and Jesus Christ our Savior.

These experience of mine is a proof that in Society of Saint Vincent de Paul, everyone matters.

𝐊𝐈𝐋𝐀𝐋𝐀𝐍𝐈𝐍 𝐀𝐍𝐆 𝐃𝐈𝐘𝐎𝐒 𝐒𝐀 𝐃𝐔𝐊𝐇𝐀

The gathering was made even more meaningful with the presence of the 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗦𝗦𝗩𝗣 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗩𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗿𝘀 who courageously said “𝘆𝗲𝘀” 𝘁𝗼 𝗮 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗿𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻.

As the Church celebrates 𝗣𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗦𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆, members of the Council 𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘄𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝘃𝗼𝘄𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 and reflected on the deeper meaning of their mission. The celebration served as a reminder that 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗯𝘆 𝗵𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗲, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗼𝗹𝘆 𝗦𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝘁.

“𝗣𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗯𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘆𝗼𝘂. 𝗔𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗺𝗲, 𝘀𝗼 𝗜 𝘀𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂... 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗼𝗹𝘆 𝗦𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝘁.” – 𝖩𝗈𝗁𝗇 20:21–22

In the Gospel, Jesus encountered His disciples while they were fearful and hidden behind closed doors. Yet instead of condemnation, He first offered them peace. He then breathed upon them the Holy Spirit and sent them forth in mission.

In the same way, the Society is reminded that 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝗚𝗼𝗱. One cannot bring hope to others while remaining spiritually empty. Pentecost becomes a powerful invitation to first receive 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁’𝘀 𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗼𝗹𝘆 𝗦𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝘁 before going forth to serve the poor and those most in need. The same Spirit who strengthened the early Church continues to guide and strengthen Vincentian mission today.

The renewal also emphasized that 𝗻𝗼 𝗖𝗵𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗼𝗹𝘆 𝗦𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝘁. Above all, the faithful are called to 𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗼𝗹𝘆 𝗦𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗲 — not to voices driven by 𝗳𝗮𝗹𝘀𝗲 𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀, 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀, 𝗼𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗲.

The community also reflected in prayer through the hymn:

“𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗲, 𝗛𝗼𝗹𝘆 𝗦𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝘁, 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲. 𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗱 𝗮 𝗿𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗲.”

These words are simple, but they hold a deep truth. We are asking the Holy Spirit to come into our hearts, to light our way, and to warm us with His love. 𝗪𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝘁, 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸. 𝗪𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝘁, 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀. The Holy Spirit is our guide, our strength, and the foundation of every mission we do for the poor.

The Society likewise extends its gratitude to all 𝗦𝗦𝗩𝗣 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀 for their silent sacrifices, generous time, and compassionate hearts. Through every home visit, every act of kindness, and every prayer offered, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 to those who often feel forgotten and abandoned.

May this Pentecost renewal 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗳𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗵, 𝗱𝗲𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗚𝗼𝗱, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝗼𝗿. May the Holy Spirit continue to guide every Vincentian heart to serve 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗲, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗵𝘂𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗷𝗼𝘆, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘂𝗻𝘄𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆.

𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗲, 𝗛𝗼𝗹𝘆 𝗦𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝘁. 𝗙𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀. 𝗚𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀. 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘂𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗲. 🕊
