WELCOME HOME! | As part of the highlights of our Mandaue Patronal Fiesta 2026, we are welcoming back into our shrine the 300-year old image of the Joselito El Patrocinio come May 7, 2026 (Visperas Day) during the 5:30PM Holy Mass.

This centuries-old image stands as a testament of the tradition in our shrine long before, known as the "Ritwal sa Patunob" o "Ang Pagbendisyon ni San Jose" where the image is placed on top of one's head as he asks for the intercession of Saint Joseph for his prayers and by doing so, consecrating himself to his care.

The Ritwal sa Patunob will take place on the following schedules:
May 7 - after the Visperas Mass
May 8 - after each Fiesta Mass
May 9 - after each Thanksgiving Mass

On May 10, the image will return back to the Cathedral Museum.
