𝑷𝑳𝑬 2026 𝑷𝑹𝑨𝒀𝑬𝑹 𝑩𝑹𝑰𝑮𝑨𝑫𝑬 🩺

What a privilege it is to be able to lift others up in prayer! Grateful for the lives of our doctors, students, and interns for the taking the time to pause and pray for our upcoming PLE takers.

To our PLE takers, some words of wisdom encouragement from those who have already went before you in the path you’re taking, taken from the Word of God:

1. 𝘿𝙤 𝙖𝙨 𝙅𝙚𝙨𝙪𝙨 𝙙𝙞𝙙 𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙝𝙚 𝙛𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙛𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙨𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙟𝙪𝙨𝙩 2 𝙛𝙞𝙨𝙝 𝙖𝙣𝙙 5 𝙡𝙤𝙖𝙫𝙚𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙗𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙙. (𝙅𝙤𝙝𝙣 6:1-13) — Dr. Roxanne Bongon

What seemed as an impossible situation was made possible with God. First, 𝙜𝙖𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙘𝙚𝙨 (time, strength, and knowledge) and 𝙜𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙠𝙨 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙇𝙤𝙧𝙙 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙃𝙞𝙨 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙫𝙞𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣. Look back on His faithfulness in your medical journey, from carrying throughout medical school to finally taking the exam that grants you the license to become an instrument of healing to others. Lastly, 𝙜𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙧𝙤𝙤𝙢 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙃𝙞𝙨 𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙥𝙤𝙬𝙚𝙧 𝙩𝙤 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙠 𝙞𝙣 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙨𝙞𝙩𝙪𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣. Wait on the Lord and rest in the knowledge that He is in control of your situation.

2. 𝘿𝙤𝙣’𝙩 𝙡𝙚𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙅𝙤𝙧𝙙𝙖𝙣 𝙍𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙙𝙚𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙞𝙯𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙛𝙖𝙞𝙩𝙝. (𝙅𝙤𝙨𝙝𝙪𝙖 3) — Dr. Sherry Uy

When the Israelites were about to cross the Jordan River, the river was heavily flooded yet they still obeyed what the Lord commanded them to do and placed their trust in Him. In the same way, just as the days draw near, it is understandable to feel anxious and have doubts on what the future may hold. However, what holds true is this, the same God that allowed the Israelites to cross the river safely is the same God who goes before you today. 𝙎𝙚𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙚𝙮𝙚𝙨 𝙤𝙣 𝙃𝙞𝙢 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙝𝙤𝙧 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙞𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙞𝙣 𝘾𝙝𝙧𝙞𝙨𝙩. God is still good and faithful regardless of the situation.

Sometimes, the greatest reminder we need in med school is simple:
𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙢 𝙢𝙖𝙮 𝙗𝙚 𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙡𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙜, 𝙗𝙪𝙩 𝙅𝙚𝙨𝙪𝙨 𝙞𝙨 𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙗𝙤𝙖𝙩.

There are 2 points worth reflecting in the story where Jesus calms the storm (𝐋𝐮𝐤𝐞 8:22-25)

1. 𝐉𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐬 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐛𝐨𝐭𝐡 𝐆𝐨𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐡𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧.

Jesus’ human nature is demonstrated when he fell asleep amidst the great danger they were in (𝑳𝒖𝒌𝒆 8:23). His humanity allows Him to fully experience the things we experience and emotions we feel. As medical students, the exhaustion, pressure, uncertainty, and emotions that we experience are not foreign to Him.

Isn’t it comforting to think that the God we are praying to and serving, knows, understands, and relates to the situations we’re in?

But Jesus is not only human—He is God. This is shown in His power over creation itself by commanding the wind and waves to be still (𝑳𝒖𝒌𝒆 8:24). And in a similar manner, He is also sovereign over our circumstances as well.

2. 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭’𝐬 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐦 𝐚 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐦 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐚 𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐛𝐨𝐚𝐭 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐲 𝐚𝐟𝐥𝐨𝐚𝐭. 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐛𝐨𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐇𝐢𝐦.

The disciples were in the same boat as Jesus, yet they still experienced a terrifying storm (𝑳𝒖𝒌𝒆 8:23). Being with Christ does not mean that we will never face storms. It means that we do not face them alone. His presence promises peace and assurance in the same way He calmed the storm, we just need to be still and put our full trust in Him and what He is capable of doing.

If the sinking boat represents our life, is Christ in the boat? When the pressure of med school becomes overwhelming, when we feel exhausted, uncertain, or afraid, where do we find ourselves anchoring our faith?

As we face the remainder of the first bimonthly, may this truth remind us that we are never alone in this journey. We have a God who invites us to come as we are before Him for He sees and hears us. 𝙉𝙤 𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙢 𝙞𝙨 𝙗𝙚𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙙 𝙃𝙞𝙨 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙧𝙤𝙡, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙣𝙤 𝙘𝙞𝙧𝙘𝙪𝙢𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙞𝙨 𝙗𝙚𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙙 𝙃𝙞𝙨 𝙨𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙞𝙜𝙣𝙩𝙮. So rather than finishing the bimonthly strong, finish it with faith —let God carry you through it. 🤍🌊

Med school can be a storm of exams, duties, deadlines, sleepless nights, and endless caffeine but we were never meant to go through it alone. 🫂

Join us for a time of fellowship, worship, encouragement, and reflection as we pause from the busyness of med school and remind ourselves that Jesus is with us in the middle of the storm and we can always find rest in His presence. Let Christ be your anchor as you sail through the waves of the 1st bimonthly. ⚓️🌊

𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑺𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒆 𝑶𝒑𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 - 𝑪𝒆𝒃𝒖’𝒔 2𝒏𝒅 𝑰𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒄𝒉𝒐𝒐𝒍 𝑭𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒐𝒘𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒑 ✨

An afternoon well spent for the weary but hopeful souls. As medical students, we are not exempted from the lies of the enemy. So how do we counter it? 🤔

1. 𝗕𝘆 𝗽𝘂𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗚𝗼𝗱.
- 𝙀𝙥𝙝𝙚𝙨𝙞𝙖𝙣𝙨 6:11-18
- Do not wait for the enemy’s attack. Equip yourself by spending time with the Word, standing on His promises, and knowing His Truth.

2. 𝗕𝘆 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗱.
- 𝙈𝙖𝙩𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙬 4:1-4
- Jesus in His humanness was tempted by the devil himself too but he did not give in to the deception. How? For 40 days in the wilderness, he spent time with God the Father through prayer and fasting, feeding and strengthening His spirit. This is an encouragement to make His Word your daily bread. Read your bible, meditate on His Word, and spend time in prayer. Just as the body needs its nourishment, the spirit also needs to be nourished with what is good and true.

3. 𝗕𝘆 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗽𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.
- 𝙈𝙖𝙩𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙬 4:8-11
- Most times the wisest thing to do is to flee from situations that compromises our faith, morals, and convictions. Just like how our body has it’s own sympathetic response, in a spiritual warfare, it’s either we fight the lies with the Truth or we take flight from situation that stumbles our faith.
