Responding to the National Shrine of St. Joseph's call to become a Listening Church, the Psalmist Ministry extended its mission beyond the walls of the parish through a Feeding Program and Catechism for children held on August 21, 2026, in Purok 3, Sudlon, Catarman, Cordova, Cebu.
Led by its officers and members under the leadership of Mr. Melvin Mangubat, the ministry embraced the invitation of the Shrine's pastoral team to bring Christ's love to communities through concrete acts of service. More than providing nourishment for the body, the activity sought to feed young hearts and minds with the Word of God, sharing lessons of faith, hope, and love through catechetical formation.
The program became a beautiful encounter between the Church and the community. The gratitude expressed by the children, their families, and the residents of Sudlon was a testament to the impact of even the simplest acts of kindness. Through shared meals, fellowship, and faith-filled conversations, the event reflected the Shrine's continuing commitment to listen, accompany, and serve God's people, especially those in need.
What began as a simple outreach became a meaningful witness to Christian discipleship in action. It reminded everyone involved that the Church is called not only to worship within its sacred spaces but also to go forth and become instruments of God's compassion in the wider community.
The success of this initiative inspires the Psalmist Ministry to continue organizing outreach programs that embody the Gospel's call to love and service. Guided by the example of St. Joseph and the mission of the National Shrine, the ministry remains committed to finding ways, however small, to respond to the needs of others and to bring Christ's presence to those they encounter.
"For faith is made visible through service, and love is made real when shared with others."
