Matthew 6:33 “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.”

Believers of Christ are commanded to seek God first. But when the pandemic came, most believers forget to seek God and put Him first in their life.

When we’re at home, we tend to think that it is a place where we can be idle and so we use our idle time to surf the internet, watch movies or series, scroll on social media until it becomes a habit, and what makes up your daily routine. When we start putting our attention on the world, we forget to prioritize and make time for God. But when our hearts are in tune with God’s then the seeking continues.

So what are your priorities for today? Is God included in them?

: PRAY

Matthew 9:35-38
"Pray because the harvest is plenty but the workers are few"

Jesus sees those people who are lost and those who need to hear about the gospel and of His love. He sees those who want to learn about Him but don't know where to start, and those who want to repent and ask for forgiveness but don't know what to do next. Jesus sees all those people who require His help and guidance, and He had compassion for them. So he sent missionaries as His laborers to preach and teach into His harvest field.

But here is the dilemma: the harvest is plenty but the workers are few. So as believers of Christ, what can we do to help and support our fellow believers and missionaries? That is to pray. We pray for God to send in more laborers. We pray to God to give the workers wisdom, knowledge, encouragement, provision, and courage to persevere in the ministry.

So let us PRAY so that many can be saved and more people can enter the kingdom of God.

Colossians 4:2
"Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful."

Prayer opens the door to many blessings. Prayer can make you grow closer to God, learn more about His purpose and commands for you, allow you to be in the habit of dependency and surrender to Him, and bring your life into alignment with His vision and plans.

So How Can You Pray Effectively? You can pray:

1.) Persistently
- Prayer should be a habit with every believer. Our life and ministry would continue to prosper through continued vigilance in prayer. (1 Thess 5:17 "Pray without ceasing")

2.) Watchfully
- Pray watchfully because the enemy knows our weaknesses and uses them to distract us from praying and making time for God.

3.) Thankfully
- Our prayers should be filled with thanksgiving in whatever circumstance or season we are in life.
- Being thankful allows us to be reminded of the blessings we have that are given by God and make us satisfied and contented. But if we are filled with greed for things we don’t have it leads to bitterness and discontentment in life resulting in ungratefulness.

So be persistent, watchful, and thankful in your prayers.

"Surviving the Storms"

Romans 8:37
“In all these things, we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us.”’

The storms of life may hit hard, but they don’t have to destroy
you. And the one who understood this the most was Job. Many people could stand firm when they lose their wealth but Job not only lost that but also His health and children. Yet through it all He was able to honor the Lord’s authority and was willing to submit to His greater purpose. He didn’t complain or question. He just simply had faith and he trusted that God was achieving good things through the trials.

When we submit ourselves to the Lord, difficult circumstances can makes us stronger, more sensitive, humble, self sacrificing and compassionate. And through the storms in life it can really teach us true obedience to the Father. So surrender to Him and allow Him to sustain you just like Job did.

Many believers are well informed about the different bible stories, bible characters, verses, and some can even memorize long scriptures.

The bible provides us with information about the truth, about who Christ is, how we should live our lives, and so many more!
But we forget that we should not only KNOW God's Word we should also PRACTICE it.

What we really need is not just INFORMATION but TRANSFORMATION.

Romans 12:2 says, "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be
able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will."

Are you transformed? Or only informed?

A Friend that You Need

1 Samuel 19:1-7

In the first seven verses of this chapter, king Saul is plotting to kill David brought by his jealousy towards him. However, his son Jonathan, a good friend of David, is concerned about his father’s plan. He tries his best to put his father’s plan to a stop because he knows for himself that David never did anything wrong to them, in fact he even risked his life to defeat their enemy, Goliath, and eventually brought victory to all Israel. Because of Jonathan’s determination to save his friend David from king Saul’s evil plan, he successfully managed to change king Saul’s mind.

Jonathan, in these verses is a perfect example of what a good friend should be. He refused to follow his father’s plan because he knew that it was unreasonable and evil to kill his friend David. We can learn a lot about the qualities of a good friend that Jonathan showed as a friend of David in the first few verses of this chapter:

🫂Obeys God rather than man
Jonathan did not follow Saul’s command to assassinate David despite of him being his father and king of Israel. He chose the path that honors God, who is the highest of everything.
🫂Watches out for you
Jonathan privately met with David in order to tell him about king Saul’s evil plan. He did not keep it to himself, for if he did, David would remain letting his guard down and would be in trouble.
🫂Does not tolerate evil
Jonathan tried his best to stop king Saul from executing this evil plan of his. He reminded him of how David helped him overcome some challenges in his life as a leader and also as an individual.

Being a good friend lets others see Christ in you. Continue striving to be one for God’s glory! 🙏🏻

Message from Pstr. Reynold Viernes

What keeps you distracted from wholeheartedly serving God? What hinders you to start a relationship with Him?
The number 1 destructive tool and cause of distraction if not used wisely is the use of Gadgets.

1 Corinthians 10:31 says, "So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God."

God wants us to use any gadget in a way that God gets the glory.

🔒 What can Social Media do to us if not used wisely?

#1: Issue of Privacy

📌 Do not be so transparent in social media and post things that should be kept private as big tech companies uses our information to monetize our activities. Be careful with the things you post.

#2: Social Media and games can bring out the worst in us

📌 Because people's lives, achievements, successes, glow up, are being displayed in social media we can't help but compare
ourselves and our lives with other people. We feel the need to conform with what is trending for the fear of missing out.

📌 Social Media triggers low self-esteem, depressions, suicidal thinking. Also rebellion, idolatry, immorality, short temperance.

#3: Social Media and Games can be a Distraction and Addiction

📌 Social Media can be a distraction from the most valuable things or people in our lives.

We can't blame technology for our downfall.
We must know the REAL problem.
The problem is YOU and ME. We must acknowledge and agree that it is a problem.

🔒 Your GADGETS are God-given gifts and should only be used always in a way that GODGETS the glory!

🔒CHALLENGE:
🔑 Surrender your whole life to God!
🔑 Develop a Godly discipline
🔑 Make or join a Christian community or movement that understands and aims to glorify God through their gadgets.

Will you take on the challenge today?

WHAT IS YOUR IDENTITY?
Ephesians 2:10

It's all too easy in this world to doubt our identities and who we are. We strive to blend in and appear just like everyone else, but the truth is that we are not. One Person encapsulates who you truly are, and His name is Jesus.

Here are the truths found in God’s Word that reveal who we truly are:

📖 WE ARE A NEW CREATION
2 Corinthians 5:17—“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”

➮ Your past does not define you because Jesus is in you.
➮ Instead of sinners we are called Christians. Lost ↝ found. Enemy ↝ friend. Unrighteous↝ righteous.

📖 WE ARE HIS CHILD
1 John 3:1—“Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.”

➮When we confess our need for salvation, we immediately become part of God’s family as His daughter or as His son.

📖 WE ARE LOVED BEYOND COMPARE
Romans 8:38-39—“For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

➮ God simply cannot and will not stop loving us. Nothing can separate us from His unfailing love.

However, many people today suffer from identity crisis which is primarily brought by the process of questioning their identity.

Here are the following hindrances that keep us from showing our identity:

🔒DISTRACTION - can cause us to lose focus of our true identity
🔒DOUBT- we question the image of God in us. Christ is already enough to define who we are but we are too doubtful.
🔒DISAPPROVAL- craving for approval for the world's standard
🔒DISORIENTATION- too busy prioritizing worldly things

Let us not allow anything or even anyone to pull us away from showing our identity.
Always remember your identity in Christ, because that is one of the things that will never be taken away from you. In Him, we’re a victor! 🤍

"Rejoicing With Others" | 1 Samuel 18:1-9

Have you ever been jealous by a classmate for receiving more awards than you? Have you ever been jealous of your sibling for receiving more attention than you? Have you been jealous of others who have something you don't? Have you ever done something to hurt others because of your jealousy?

If so, then maybe you are not satisfied with your life or with what you have, you feel insecure to the point of releasing your anger and lack of contentment on others and unconsciously hurting them in the process.

This was the case for Saul. He was jealous of David because of his
achievements. (1 Samuel 18:1-9) He felt jealous because the people praised him for defeating tens of thousands while Saul defeated only thousands during the war. And 'whatever mission Saul sent him on, David was so successful that Saul gave him a high rank in the army.'(v.5)

Saul felt threatened because he had almost everything but the kingdom. As a result, Saul's jealousy robbed him of his joy and peace. It robbed him of his contentment in Christ and what he had. It robbed him of his joy in remembering what he had accomplished himself.

If you are struggling with jealousy just like Saul, just remember to
count your blessings. Don't allow your jealousy to rob you of your joy and peace in life. Do not allow it to consume you and hurt others in the process. Do not allow it to hinder you from glorifying God and from becoming the person God intended you to be. Do not allow it to rob you of the chance to become the best version of yourself.

Instead, choose to love and be happy for other's achievements.
Learn to rejoice with others in their victories.
Jealousy brings people apart while
Love makes you seek unity with others.
Love makes you put others before yourself.

So what will you choose to be today?
