Ako usa ka pagmatuod sa manggihatagong pag-alagad sa ubang tawo. Kung asa ko karon, bunga kini sa mga katekista, mga kaparian, mga lider, ug mga tawo nga mitubag sa tawag sa pagpangalagadβ€”bisan lisod. Ang akong kinabuhi usa ka dakong ehemplo sa grasya sa Ginoo pinaagi sa halapad nga pag-alagad.

Mga igsoon kong katekista, sa matag tudlo nato sa pag-ampo, natagbaw nato ang kauhaw ni Kristo. Sa matag pulong nga nagdala og paglaum, natagbaw nato ang kauhaw ni Kristo. LOOK: Lay speaker Bro. Jose Ismael Icalina reminded catechists that every act of teaching and service helps fulfill the thirst of Christ. In every prayer taught and every word that brings hope, they continue to answer Christ’s call through their mission.

He also shared that despite the sacrifices of waking up early, traveling far, and serving even in difficult weather, catechists remain committed because they know their humble service quenches not only the needs of people, but also the thirst of Christ Himself.

March 5, 2026 β€” Today, we commemorate the 26th Anniversary of the Beatification of St. Pedro Calungsod, the young Filipino catechist and martyr whose life continues to inspire us in faith, courage, and missionary zeal.

In joyful celebration of this significant occasion, the NSSJ Catechetical Ministry also held the 14th Annual Fiesta Celebration in honor of our beloved patron, St. Pedro Calungsod. The celebration was attended by our dedicated Catechists, Youth, and Altar Servers, who gathered in prayer and fellowship to honor the life and witness of this remarkable saint.

The celebration began with the Holy Mass presided over by Rev. Fr. Joel Oriesga, followed by a solemn foot procession in honor of St. Pedro Calungsod. The festivities concluded with a simple yet meaningful dinner, allowing everyone to share in the joy of community and thanksgiving.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our Team of Pastors, especially to the Team Moderator, Rev. Msgr. Roger Fuentes, and to our Spiritual Director, Rev. Fr. Joel Oriesga, for their guidance and support to the Catechetical Ministry.

Our sincere appreciation also goes to our Mass sponsors, caro flower sponsors, donors, flower decorators for the altar and caro, the program committee, food committee, and to everyone who generously contributed their time, effort, and resources for the success of this meaningful celebration.

May the life and witness of St. Pedro Calungsod continue to inspire us to remain faithful missionaries of Christ.
