EASTER CELEBRATION | The Gethsemane Parish community gathered to celebrate the glorious triumph of life over death during the Easter Vigil and the dawn of Easter Sunday (Sugat)

The Easter Vigil, was solemnly celebrated and presided over by Msgr. Antonio Quintana. In the stillness of the night, we journeyed from darkness into light, symbolizing Christ’s victory over sin and death. As the Paschal Candle was lit, our hearts were reminded that no darkness can overcome the light of Christ.

In the renewal of our baptismal promises, we reaffirmed our faith and commitment to live as children of the light. Truly, the Resurrection of Christ brings new life, new beginnings, and unending hope to all.

At the break of dawn, the parish community joyfully witnessed the Sugat Celebration. It was a moment filled with joy, music, and deep faith, reminding us that sorrow has turned into rejoicing, and death into life.

The celebration continued with the Holy Mass presided over by Fr. Irwin Pilario, where the faithful gathered as one community to proclaim the Good News: Christ is Risen! Alleluia!

May this Easter season inspire us to live as witnesses of the Resurrection—bringing light where there is darkness, hope where there is despair, and love where there is need.

In Gethsemane, we rejoice as one community, renewed in faith and alive in Christ.

GOOD FRIDAY | With hearts full of reverence and gratitude, the Gethsemane Parish community gathers during Good Friday to remember the Passion and Death of our Lord Jesus Christ. The liturgical celebration was presided over by Rev. Fr. Carlo Aguilar, who guided the faithful in commemorating this profound mystery of our salvation.

Yesterday, we were invited to reflect on the depth of Christ’s love, a love so great that He willingly embraced the Cross for our salvation. In His suffering, we find meaning in our own trialsin His sacrifice, we discover the fullness of mercy and redemption.

MAUNDY THURSDAY | As we begin the Paschal Triduum, may we be reminded of Christ’s commandment: “Love one another as I have loved you.” With hearts united in prayer, our parish community gathers this Maundy Thursday to remember the Last Supper of the Lord.
The celebration started with a mass presided over by Rev. Fr. Irwin Pilario

As we reflect on Christ’s humility and love, may we be inspired to become instruments of His peace, serving others with compassion and kindness.
We invite everyone to join us in this sacred celebration and to continue the vigil in prayer before the Blessed Sacrament.

May this night inspire us to serve with humility, forgive with sincerity, and love without condition.

PILGRIMAGE | With grateful and joyful hearts, the Gethsemane Parish faithful community embarked on a meaningful pilgrimage in Schoenatatt Shrine, Lawaan, Talisay Cebu City.

This journey reminded that pilgrimage is not only about reaching a destination, but allowing our hearts to be transformed along the way. One of the moving highlights during pilgrimage was the Way of the Cross where we pause in every station, remembered and offered our intentions. We were also blessed to celebrate the Holy Mass, presided over by Rev. Fr. Carlo T. Aguilar, parish team moderator.

We thank all the the different Parish Mandated Organizations and parishioners who joined and made this pilgrimage truly special.

'The journey itself is a prayer'

PALM SUNDAY | Earlier today, Gethsemane Parish and community gathered in faith to commemorate Palm Sunday, recalling the triumphant entry of Jesus into Jerusalem. This rite of blessing of palm branches reminds us that as we welcome Christ as our King, we are also called to walk with Him on the path of sacrifice, leading us to his Passion, Death, & Resurrection.

With Joyful Hearts, we waved our blessed palm branches proclaiming: "Hosanna to the Son of David"

The mass was presided over by Rev. Fr. Carlo T. Aguilar, Gethsemane Parish - Team Moderator.
