Were you warned by His words lately? Or maybe a brother or sister have talked to you and warned you? Know that it is for your good and for pointing you back to Christ.

Romans 2:2-4

[2] We know that the judgment of God rightly falls on those who practice such things. [3] Do you suppose, O man—you who judge those who practice such things and yet do them yourself—that you will escape the judgment of God? [4] Or do you presume on the riches of his kindness and forbearance and patience, not knowing that God’s kindness is meant to lead you to repentance?

The Infinite Patience of God

“The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”
‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭3:9‬ ‭NIV‬‬

We tend to think that if we keep on making mistakes, God will not forgive us anymore and will forsake us. We think that God has a limit to His patience, but what we are thinking is based on our human standard. It is because we’ve seen people get impatient and irritated when we ask too many questions or ask them for many favors and we tend to associate these instances with God, but God is not like that.

We cannot wear out God’s patience.

His patience is limitless; infinite.

How? Think of the many years He has been reaching out to His people from the Old Testament until now. Remember that He is patient and loving enough (more than enough) to save sinners and help them become Christ-like. God’s patience gives us many chances at forgiveness. Even Paul, who claimed to be the worst of sinners (1 Timothy 1:15-16), was able to be saved by Jesus. This goes to show that indeed God’s patience is perfect and limitless.

“But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life.”
‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭1:16‬ ‭NIV‬‬
