Today, we commemorate Saint Bernard of Corleone, a Capuchin lay brother who transformed from a Sicilian duelist into a model of heroic penance and prayer, embracing poverty and austerity with unyielding fervor. Born Filippo Latini in 1605 to a noble family in Palermo, he excelled as a skilled swordsman, engaging in over 60 duels by age 24, then carried a deep devotion to the Virgin Mary. A near-fatal wound in a duel led to his profound conversion; entering the Capuchin order in 1632, he spent 34 years in rigorous asceticism, surviving intense penances, including surviving 12 assassination attempts with miraculous healings. Afflicted by painful wounds and illnesses, he bore all with joyful patience, becoming a spiritual guide whose miracles and charity drew crowds even from his sickbed. Saint Bernard’s witness of radical conversion and heroic virtue shines as an example of God's transforming grace amid personal trials.

St. Bernard of Corleone, help us to love God and do penance for our sins.

This year's Open House will follow a hybrid setup: the full event will be held onsite, while an online viewing option will be available for the program proper only. Onsite trial classes will be available for Kindergarten, Grade 1, Grades 7–10, and Grade 11 students, allowing them to experience firsthand the Lourdesian way of learning and formation.

We look forward to meeting parents and guardians who deeply value the holistic development of their boys as persons of brilliance and integrity. Pax et bonum!
