Every human heart longs for a voice that speaks with truth, love, and mercy. In the Sacred Heart of Jesus, we find that voiceโ€”a Heart that speaks directly to our own.

Saint John Henry Newman chose the motto Cor ad cor loquitur โ€” โ€œHeart speaks unto heartโ€ โ€” because he understood that Christ saves us by speaking to our hearts from His Sacred Heart. Through prayer, adoration, and especially in the Holy Eucharist, Newman encountered the living Heart of Jesus and learned to listen to His voice.

Today, as we continue our Novena, let us come before the Eucharistic Lord with hearts full of praise. May our worship open our ears to hear Him speak and our hearts to respond with love.
