"Kindness to the poor is a loan to the LORD, and He will reward to the lender." Proverbs 19:17

People ask why we should help the poor and needy, when all we do is teach them to be dependent on the help they receive.

There's much to discuss about this but the focus of this passage in on the motive of the lender or the giver. It also honors the LORD who is the source of all we have to give whatever we can to help the needy.

We show kindness through gracious giving, and the LORD rewards us/pays us back, not so much with material blessings but all the more, spiritual blessings that is far more rewarding.

I pray that we all follow this path of helping and showing kindness to those in need. The LORD will pay you back. Amen!

"13 No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it."
1 Corinthians 10:13

Temptations are part of our daily lives. At times it feels so strong you think it was easier to give in rather than fighting against it.

But do know that in moments when we feel so vulnerable to temptations, God's presence and His word resounds loudly.

I believe God is reminding us that no matter what temptations leading to sin affects us, He also shows us the way to get away from it.

That's how God protects you and me from sinning: because of His faithfulness.

Proverbs 16:9 (New International Version)

"In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps."

We think. We plan. We execute. But not all plans go the direction we planned it to.

Maybe what's missing is a God directed path. When we plan, be sure include God in it. Ask God, "Lord, will you please guide my steps towards my goal? And will you please check my heart and my motives if they are according to your will?"

Let Him establish your steps along the way. Let Him guide you.
