The abbreviated name expresses the commission’s innate mandate to be the working arm of the diocese on social concerns and this is intimately connected to the total self-giving of Christ to humanity and to all of creation, which is symbolized by the cross on the logo. The appearance of the letter “M” on the logo symbolizes Mary the Patroness of the Diocese of Malolos and the woman who dedicated he

rself to serve her Son even at the foot of the cross. The mountain and wave-like forms on the logo stand for the commitment of the commission to always work for Sound Environment and Ecological Defense (SEED) believing that any program we pursue must educate people to be responsible stewards of God’s creation, otherwise, our programs will come into naught if we do not have a safe and healthy environment. The arrow symbolizes that every program of the commission must be transcended following the inspiration and promptings of the Holy Spirit. Programs and advocacies, however difficult they might be because of the church’s scarcity of provisions and limited technical know-how, will only find their meaning through a life of communal discernment and action rooted on the Gospel, Catholic Social teachings, Prayer and Christian witnessing.
