Spiritual maturity is learning to seek God even when you don’t need anything from Him.

Don’t build a relationship with God only around what He can do for you.

Know Him for who He is.

Talk to Him when you’re grateful.

Worship Him when you’re blessed.

Obey Him when nobody is watching.

Read His Word when you aren’t looking for an answer.

Give Him your time when you aren’t in trouble.

Make Him part of your ordinary days, not just your extraordinary emergencies.

Because the habits you build in peaceful seasons will sustain you when difficult seasons come.

Don’t wait until the storm teaches you how to pray.

Learn to pray while the sky is clear.

Don’t wait until you lose something to realize how much you need God.

Walk with Him while you have everything.

And don’t let blessings make you forget the One who gave them.

The goal isn’t to run to God only when life falls apart.

The goal is to walk with God so closely that He is already the center of your life when the storms arrive.

So take Him seriously.

Not occasionally.

Not conveniently.

Not only on Sundays.

Not only when you need something.

Every day.

Give Him your attention.

Give Him your obedience.

Give Him your time.

Give Him your plans.

Give Him your heart.

Because one day, life will get serious.

And when that day comes, you don’t want to be meeting God for the first time in your crisis.

You want to already know His voice.

You want to already trust His character.

You want to already know where to run.

Seek God now.

While life is good.

While you have time.

While you have strength.

While you have breath.

Take God seriously now. Not only when life gets serious.

Sometimes the best thing God can give you an unanswered prayer.

Have you ever prayed for something that God refused to give to you? It may just be that this was the best thing for you. Just like Paul prayed three times for the thorn in the flesh to be removed, God denied him three times. Through that experience Paul was able to learn that His gracious is all he needed. Sometimes a "no" answer is the best answer in larger purpose of God in our lives.
