Happy 126th Independence Day, Philippines!

May God's will be done in our nation, and may every Filipino experience true freedom in Christ to fulfill our God-given destiny.

Let's continue to love and value the uniqueness of our nation, culture, tradition, and community. May those who are oppressed and marginalized find freedom, rescue, and hope. May everyone find joy, contentment, meaning, and hope as they live and serve in this nation.

May Christ Jesus reign in the Philippines today, tomorrow, and forever!

The Philippines celebrates Independence Day on June 12th to commemorate the declaration of independence from Spain in 1898. This event is considered the National Day since 1978.

There were earlier movements towards independence, but the official declaration came during the Philippine Revolution. The US played a role in the Spanish-American War and the eventual transfer of power from Spain to the US.

The Philippines gained full independence from the US on July 4th, 1946, but June 12th was designated as the official Independence Day in 1964.

In the same breath, each day, we celebrate how Jesus Christ liberated us from the bo***ge of sin and death through His ultimate sacrifice on the cross.
